How difficult is it to get hired as someone who has never been in the military or the police, but has lived in Alaska for their entire life and has been attending college.

It is very difficult. For every hiring cycle, there will be over 1000 applicants. Of those, roughly 10-20 will be selected to attend the academy as an AST. The competition is fierce. However, it is impossible for anyone to judge how qualified you are or how well you would do in the selection process based upon the information you provided. Only you know what skills and personal qualities you are bringing to the table.

To my knowledge there is no appealing a disqualification. You may reapply at a later date but the process moves on with or without you.
