  • Alaska's Loss is the County's Gain

Sorry fellow citizens from Alaska. You lost a great person as your governor, but she will be great for the entire country as our V.P.!

I didn't wish Palin on Alaska, and I cringe at the thought of her representing the etire United States. She is truely an idiot. McCaine went for the novelty, the gimmick, by picking Palin, and it's going to cost him the White House.

        You know this how????
A Veteran is someone who at one point in their life wrote a blank check made payable to The United States of America, for an amount up to, and including their life. That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today, who no longer understand that fact!

McCain and her are going to be awesome in the White House. They'll win.

Contrary to Skeptic, she's actually pretty darn sharp. You don't get where she is by being lucky or pretty, though she's that, too. How that'll hold up in national politics remains to be seen, but I have to agree with most here in thinking it was a pretty smart move by McCain.

Think about it: If Obama goes after her for lack of experience, that's just going to backfire on him...he's not exactly a wealth of national experience, either. She's got a record of standing up to the big guns and, maybe more importantly, winning against them. She'll win over mom's like crazy, because she is one and obviously her family is a big part of her life.

I don't know...I think from a gathering public support standpoint, she's the right one for the job.

Temporary loss, we'll get her back full time in November, if she hasn't resigned in embarrassment by then.

So for those who are in Alaska, how many think that if she doesn't make VP that she will make it another term as Governor?

I think she would have a good chance at reelection. This DPS thing is rather embarassing to her but hopefully she'll learn from it and move on. She has no one but herself to blame for this. She has done some good things as governor and at least she can mae a decision.

I would never underestimate Sarah Palin's toughness. The crap they have on her at the national level is rather amusing compared to other stuff that we all have seen before. If the main negative against her is that her 17-year old kid is pregnant who cares?

The "troopergate" thing...well, that was all about choices and hopefully she will have learned her lesson. 70-80% people polled think she is lying about it but her approval ratings are still in the mid 60's. George Bush would kill to be at 50%.

From what i've read she had an 80% approval rating in Alaska...

and how is Obama going to compare his 'experience' to that of a 'VP' hopeful?

Latest approval polls reported by Halcro's site states its mid 60's as of now. Lower but still good.
