Does anyone know anything about them? Do you have to start in the jail frist before you hit the streets? Are when you apply for patrol thats what you get? And if you know anything else about them shifts, takehome cars, etc.? The good and bad about the department? thank you

    I work for them.

Yes you start in the jail before you go to patrol. Right now the roll out time is about 2.5-3 years. The shifts are 6a-2p(day), 2p-10p(evening), 10p-6a(night). When you roll out to patrol and complete your patrol FTO then you get a take home.

To me working in the jail is a good thing it is easy, but can hard or busy at times. You learn alot of faces, so when you get to patrol you know the trouble makers. It teaches you alot about how to handle people also.

The only bad thing that I can think of is that like any other law enforcement job there can be a hiring freeze and you can get stuck in the jail for 5 or more years(yikes).
