Most leases automatically include free "gap" protection in case your vehicle is totaled in an accident or stolen, and you still owe more than the vehicle is worth. Loans do not generally come with gap protection.

I wish our department would...run them until they blow up, but they'll have a fresh coat of paint before they do! I'm also curious if any one else does.

Any small or medium departments out there lease patrol cars? Has the deal and experience been good or bad and will your agency do it again?
