L.E. Jobs around Huntsville?

Hey there, new to the forum. I am a current leo with Department of Homeland Security... Looking to relocate to the Huntsville area. Been trying to find jobs around there such as... DoD Police and Security jobs at Redstone, NASA Security Police at Marshall Space Center.. Oak Ridge Security Police (even though its in Tenn)... Anyone have any other ideas other than listed above and the City P.D.s such Huntsville PD and Madison County? I have all Federal time and not sure if that will transfer for my APOST cert... Emailed Huntsville PD and never heard anything back. Any help and ideas would be great guys Thanks! and be safe...

Huntsville and Madison pd will be pretty much fully staffed with the next academies. There are always openings on redstone. Huntsville pd will be hiring next year sometime...

TVA looks pretty cool, what do they do though? And sadly I dont qualify. Only got 2.5 years Federal Armed Security, and about 1 year as a sworn Leo. Redstone has DoD Police, but do you know do they have contract security? I know MSFC does.

I was a Border Patrol Agent for a year prior to transferring to my current position. I was able to take the 80-Hour Refresher Course instead of the full academy due to my education, the length of training at the federal academy, and years experience. It's based on a point system. You may be able to do the same.

Ya I am a CBP Officer... Although don't have the 6 years. Got 2 1/2 federal security at nasa, and about a year on with CBP...

Contracted. You know your stuff most people don't know the difference. NASA doesn't have any 0085. All Security Police are contracted.. Wackenhut, Sec Tek, Coastal... ect ect.. Only leo's they have are 1811 Special Agents. What do you do huntman?

I'm Gate Security at an Army base. The main contract security companies that have Army contracts that I know of are Walden Security , Wackenhut Services , Alutiiq , and Chenga Corp.

Those will be going away within the next two years or so and being turned into Dept. of the Army Guards (Series 0085).

Well thanks for the heads up. I saw on the Department the Army web site a few 0085 open up for redstone. I think I might wait till January and apply for a lateral to Huntsville PD, I heard good things about them. I sent their recruiters an email with some questions about their lateral program but have not heard anything back in almost a month.

Thanks huntman.. looked into it, but doesn't look like they are hiring. Jobs are pretty hard to find now days it seems. Couple years ago seemed like everyone was hiring leo's.
