Based on most military actions, it was a justified sinking since it was in a state of war even though it was considered outside of the "exclusion zone".

    It was Bush’s fault.

I recall reading a book about the Parachute Regiment and SAS at the Battle of Goose Green. Definitely some tough bastards!

Argentina still lays claim to the Falklands and so your comments are correct.

I recall the time when Argentina invaded the islands with a massive force and captured the outnumbered Royal Marines; however that quickly changed over a period of time. A 'Google' on the subject makes some interesting reading in regards to the British response.

I did find this interesting video on YouTube about the Royal Falkland Island Police:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKeYnXYIDrY

Note the 2:40 mark, where the chief shows off their standard issued gear: vest, baton, knife (for cutting seatbelts) and handcuffs. That's it.

Other than drunk sailors getting into fights on weekends, the chief said there was virtually no crime. What a contrast to what I observed in South Africa (and former British colony) last year when I was working with some of their SAPS DCPI Hawks....

How big is this department? Wikipedia says only 4,000 people live there (3,000 civilians/1,000 British military). I live in a town of 4,000 people and there's the Chief, a sergeant, three officers, and a dozen reserves that help out during parades and football games.....

Do you need to be a UK Citizen? I know a few retirees over her in the colonies who are still fit and would probably like to give it a go.
