Warnie as Captain of the Test Side???

    Bite your tongue...

Just because the guy is a great bowler, doesn't automatically make him captain material!!

Besides I believe he is too busy at the moment at the local "grab a granny" night...still..what a granny!!!

I agree that the last test was a great outcome for Australian cricket. I have been saying for years that Australia needed new blood and a reasonably regular turnover of talent in order to maintain our supremacy...
    ..events have borne me out...
...and yet, somehow, I feel no sense of vindication...

Yes we did win, but so did Australian cricket. It has been rated as the best test series in history, it takes two great sides to be a part of that.

I wonder if Shane Warne will be captain of Australia the next time we see them ? Ponting did seem to make a couple of tactical errors.

The true test will come when England defend the ashes in Oz. Be interested to see how some of our batsmen are against Brett Lee on the likes of the fast bouncy pitche in Perth ?
And also be interested to see Australia against Harmison, Flintoff, Hoggard and Jones on the same pitches. Sadly we didn't get to see much of Jones last time as he badly injured his Knee.

    Lighten up Tigger..
I believe in cricket circles that would be known as sledging, rather than banter.
I'm sure there was no harm intended...

    ....and you won.

Question - Why can Kevin PIETERSON hold his head high ?
Answer - At least he can say he's not really English

Bit OTT and uncalled for wasn't it ?

    Banter is fine, thats abusive.

Thank you for being so 'sporting', not often us lot win anything I must admit that I know nothing about cricket (well just the basics) and I couldn't care less if we lost the next game......just got swept along in the patriotic hype
That Shane Warne can bowl a bit can't he? Nice Googlies too

Well I'm padded up ready to watch the second test, here's a couple of jokes I heard, have plenty more but I'll wait and see the reaction to these first.

Question - What do Ashley GILES and Michael JACKSON have in common ?
Answer - They both wear gloves for no apparent reason

Question- What would Glenn MCGRATH be if he were English ?
    Answer - An all rounder

Question - What do you call an Englishman with a hundred runs against his name ?
    Answer - A bowler

Question - Why can Kevin PIETERSON hold his head high ?
Answer - At least he can say he's not really English
