  • Fed LEO Looking at US Virgin Islands

I am a current federal LEO looking at a post in the US Virgin Islands, the specific duty location would be the St. John island. As a young single guy, spending a short time in the caribbean doesn't sound that bad. My question is what would the lifestyle like be for a LEO in the USVI? Especially a white male like myself?

I was on St John a couple years ago for a wedding.

    The beer is too cold.
    The weather is too beautiful.
The sun is shining too much.
    The water is too clear.
    Rum is too cheep.
They drive on the wrong side of the road.

I think it's a 2 or 3 yr commitment, at least for a buddy I knew who was legacy Customs. I don't see a downside.
Hey Kidd, I've got more time On Meal than you have "On the Job"

The agent was ultimately cleared years later, but he went through hell.

I was on vacation in St Thomas with the wife and we took a ferry from the resort to the little town to shop and sightsee. After walking around for a bit I started noticing lots of police cars marked "Housing Police" patrolling the area. In my experience any area that has housing police is a pretty busy area crimewise. We were on the next ferry back to the resort.
