Hmmm, considering most of the time the insurgent groups DO NOT pay the family of the "martyr" anything, it wouldn't matter...

Taliban only started using suicide bombers because they saw the "success" of them in Israel and Iraq....

Even though they technically "contract" their suicide bombers...

Shoot, 200 bucks to go blow yourself up.. make it 250 I'll consider it, just kidding. I think that the people working in the Iraqi Police are doing it because they want to help their country, not for the money.

As you have seen in the past two days Fatah and Hamas are going at it within Palestine. The extremist movement is hitting the youth in these areas hard.

Unfortunately the PLO seems to be the only rational actors in the occupied territories. They are at least willing to recognize Israels right to exist which is apparent in the Oslo Accords. Hamas refuses to even consider that option. The PLO, if you look at the history, really screwed the Palestinians out of a two state solution when they were on the decline and ousted from Beruit and came to the occupied territories to keep their organization afloat. I wouldn't necessarily state its the hippie crowd that states that justhomp. Just think its easier to negotiate with sane people vs. Radical Extremists like Hamas.

What you are seeing in this part of the world now is a Palestine which was more nationalistic and saw themselves more as Palestinians rather than Arab or Muslim now being taken over by extremists like Hamas and Hizbullah.

    'Peace partner' praises child-killing terrorist

JERUSALEM – A leading member of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah organization oversaw a delegation yesterday to visit recently freed Palestinian terrorist child-killer Samir Kuntar, calling the convicted murderer "beautiful," and a "pure and clean" hero.

Palestinian Liberation Organization ambassador to Lebanon Abbas Zaki, a senior member of the Fatah Central Committee, yesterday led the delegation – which included other PLO and Fatah members – to visit Kuntar in Lebanon's Druze Mount village of Abayeh.

Kuntar was serving multiple life sentences in an Israeli prison for murdering three Israelis, including smashing to death a 4-year-old girl with the butt of his rifle.

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert released Kuntar and four other terrorists earlier this month in a controversial prisoner exchange deal with the Hezbollah terror group that saw the remains of two Israeli soldiers returned to Israel.
