    E-MAIL STORY PRINTER FRIENDLY VERSION
CAIRO, Egypt — A new video of al-Qaida's No. 2 leader released on Saturday mocks President Bush and U.S. legislation requiring the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq, saying the bill would rob the group's fighters of the chance to kill more Americans.

Osama bin Laden's deputy Ayman al-Zawahri derided the new U.S.-backed Baghdad security plan, recounting an April 12 suicide bombing in Baghdad's heavily protected Green Zone when an attacker slipped through security and killed a Sunni legislator in the Iraqi parliament's cafeteria. An al-Qaida-led amalgam of Sunni insurgents in Iraq claimed responsibility.

"And lest Bush worry, I congratulate him on the success of his security plan, and I invite him on the occasion for a glass of juice, but in the cafeteria of the Iraqi parliament in the middle of the Green Zone," al-Zawahri said.

The video was obtained Saturday by U.S.-based monitoring groups who released a transcript to media.

Al-Zawahri, shown seated before a bookshelf in a white robe and turban, addresses legislation pushed by Democratic leaders, and vetoed by Bush, that would have required the first U.S. troops in Iraq to be withdrawn by Oct. 1 with a goal of a complete pullout six months later.

"This bill will deprive us of the opportunity to destroy the American forces which we have caught in a historic trap," al-Zawahri said, according to a transcript released by the monitoring group SITE. The bill is evidence of American "failure and frustration," he added.

"We ask Allah that they (U.S. troops) only get out of it after losing 200,000 to 300,000 killed, in order that we give the spillers of blood in Washington and Europe an unforgettable lesson," he said.

He made no mention of Bush vetoing the bill on Thursday, an indication the video may have been made beforehand.

Al-Zawahri encouraged minorities around the world to join the holy war, or jihad.

"Al-Qaida is not merely for the benefit of Muslims," he said. "That's why I want blacks in America, people of color, American Indians, Hispanics, and all the weak and oppressed in North and South America, in Africa and Asia, and all over the world."

Al-Zawahri claimed al-Qaida fighters in Iraq were "nearing closer to victory over their enemy, despite this sectarian fighting" that has convulsed the country.

He discussed other topics as well in the 67-minute video, including fighting in Afghanistan, Chechnya, Algeria, and Somalia. He made references to Saudi Arabia, Egyptian constitutional changes meant to cement the government's hold on power, and the Pentagon's release of the confessions of al-Qaida No. 3, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed _ the alleged Sept. 11 mastermind who was captured in Pakistan in March 2003.

Saturday's video was the fifth message _ including posted video and audio tapes _ by al-Zawahri this year. Osama bin Laden has not surfaced in any communications since mid-2006.

We have to remember that the goal of Jihad is WORLD DOMINION. This encompasses all races and especially the "HATE AMERICA CROWD" supported by the lefties in this country who like to remind us all how much the black man has suffered under our system of Democracy. This is true, but many of us were no even around, and yet we still get hammered, because it has become a battle cry for certain groups that thrive and prosper off of racial tention. Ask Al Sharpton, Jessie Rainbow Jackson who had a hide--a-way honey' with Rainbow money! When I state, "we have to win the war at home, before we can win the war in the Middle-East. you can get where I'm coming from As long as these groups are allowed to thrive in the US. get educated in our places of higher learning(colleges) and use their glowing education to espouse propaganda on our college campuses, we are spinning our wheels. All of this because "political correctness" has opened the door for them to come! You can go to the website www.frontpagemagazine.com to learn about how our country is slowly being won over and the Democrats and their left wing supporters are the driving force...along with big bucks $$from George Soros and many other radical lefties. So all I'm saying here is Pres. Bush might have not made the best decisions, but by God he is a fighting man who does not recoil with every other whimp who will not stand up to these mad dogs of the middle east!

The enemy of my enemy... Thats whats caused this problem. We are puppets to whoever until we don't get what we want then we replace them with our own puppets... and you wonder why lil Haji wants to kill Americans? We sit and talk about being the guardian of freedom, the speerhead of liberation... so in the 80's while Saddam is running his torture chambers, rape rooms, and so forth our envoys shake his hand and turn a blind eye. Well lil Haji has one heck of a memory and now that he gots an AK he wants to voice his opinion on American soldiers with that AK.

Honestly, how can we honestly say we are "liberating" them when we turned blind eyes before?

Oh but wait its okay because they helped grease "X" number of Iranians? Instead of making "allies" we created more enemies. That has helped spur the extremists in their propoganda. We are the biggest aid in extremist recruitment.

If Saddam was linked to Al-Qaeda then I guess that shoots up the whole "The US doesn't negotiate with terrorists..." statement huh?

I am not contending we should be pulling out of Iraq or anything like that. But you guys seem to think it is not ok to talk about when you should pull out of a war or change strategy. When is it ok to talk about that? How many people have to die before you question a war? How many lies (or misinformation) have to be uncovered before it is ok to question a war?

You guys seem to think that it is never ok to question a war. To say that we are failing. Sometimes you have to admit this and try a new strategy. While I think quiting is rarely an option I think questioning a poorly run war is very important. You guys seem to think blind trust is the best way to go I am just wondering at what point would you start questioning. My thought it is about the time a democratic person runs it.

                          1042,

What exactly is your definition of the the left, and what do they do that irritates you so much? Just curious.

Is someone who supports the death penalty, opposes welfare, wants out of the United Nations, supports strict jail terms, opposes most paroles, believes the federal government is too big and should respect states rights, supports the constitution, and served in the military a liberal leftist?

Once again, you are wrong my young friend. This is getting to be a regular thing...

First, ONLY FLAMING LIBERALS who disagree with me are indeed, flaming liberals. Many of my conservatives friends disagree from time to time and they ARE NOT flaming liberals. I know. I know - facts give you and other FLAMING LIBERALS the vapors, but facts are facts.

This is rich. A flaming liberal giving me the raz for ignoring facts. That's rich.
