  • San Francisco the most hated city in America?

The mayor Gavin Newsom (piece of crap) says the city is a "sanctuary city" and they will never help the federal government in turning over illegal aliens.

When asked where my wife was born, I tell people, "she wasn't born in this country...she was born in San Francisco!"

I usually get a slap on the upper arm...too bad she hasn't left a mark, yet! Responding cops never believe me!

Gavin (any twosome) Newson has an established record as a law breaker.....
He married gay couples in open defiance of state law under the rationale that he didn't think the law was constitutional....Would any law enforcement folks care to tell us how often that defense keeps other criminals out of jail?

The city a few years back outlawed handguns in defiance of state law.

Lastly, doesn't giving sanctuary to lawbreakers make him guilty as an accessory or at least guilty of obstruction of justice?

I think the SFPD should arrest their mayor and throw him in jail.

But in all fairness to the mayor, many government officials in this state also are above the law.

A few years back California charged I believe it was an additional $ 300 fee to register a motor vehicle to anyone who moved into the state. This went on for years until someone took issue with it and sued. The state lost the suit. The court found that they violated the state constitution by charging a sales/use tax where no sale took place and they also violated the U.S. constitution because the fee unfairly penalized people coming from different states. Were the politicians responsible for this held accountable for their actions? Of course not. No personal responsibility for them. Instead California taxpayers had to refund all those years of fees that were charged plus interest.

Come on, Newsom isn't the problem. He's just grand standing. I average at least one contact with an illegal a shift. If they aren't doing anything wrong, no one cares. Even if they are arrested, 9 times out of 10 INS (I forget their new, more PC name) could care less. It's not like we put them on a bus whenever we come across one.

Not ten minutes ago, I just talked to one of our guys who attended the CA state, Sacramento Police Memorial Services. He descibed SFPD and their Honor Guard members as looking and acting like a 'soup sandwich'. They didn't stand at attention, part of the group, and talked among themselves during the ceremony. And they had LOD officers being honored....sounds pretty unsat, to me.

              ICE.

              Keith,

So two officers spoke during the memorial makes the whole dept unsat?

We just had one of ours arrested. Yes, it makes LE look bad, but there are always bad apples in the bunch.

Born and raised in SF...now a transplant because the real estate over there is off the hook!

Now thats the problem right there nobody cares, I beg to differ. Now Im sure you pay taxes every year, the majority of these illegal aliens dont! They work under the table, and dont give a damn thing back to this country. Actually they take more than they give welfare, food stamps, etc. and guess who's paying for it. I understand Mexico is not the best place to live and that falls on their government.... not ours! The major problem in San Fran is; lets say an illegal alien (felon) gets pulled over and your the officer. You take this guy in and your damn department turns this guy over to ICE right wel not there. If you come to this country illegally, and you start breakin laws its time for you to get your *** kicked out of this country and if you come back its a stiff jail sentence. Thats my thoughts anyway

It's a nice theory however, we don't have the time, money, resources, holding facilities to hook every illegal we come across. Most of the ones I come across are driving without a license. The DA here won't charge that as a misdemeanor without 3 priors.

Honestly, I don't care. Much. Other than the principle of the thing. They are hard workers who do jobs that many won't. Most don't commit additional crimes other than driving without a license. They are taxing on any of our social programs enough that a tax payer like me notices a difference.

And why would we give incarcerate them for coming back. Seriously, if it's a question of taxes and money. It would cost way for to incarcerate them than it would to but them back on the bus.

He said the whole SFPD honor guard detail...I'll ask him for the numbers.

Wouldn't you want your department's (hell, anyone's for that matter) H/G members, sent to Sacto, to look and act sharp during the ceremony honoring our CA L.E. dead? Is there something wrong with that?

Okay, I read it as meaning a couple of guys in the group. But the whole group! I'd have to agree that was pretty disrespectful. They better hope Heather doesn't get wind of it.

                      Absolutely!!

                      Nothing wrong..I totally agree. Respect.

I have NEVER EVER seen members of our Honor Guard talk period during their details. Their eyes don't even wander.

Which LOD officers are you talking about? Three SFPD officers died in the line of duty in 2006. One was gunfire, one was killed by a vehicle from a pursuit, and the other was a heart attack during a training exercise.

No, many will do the jobs. Just not at the slave labor wages that big business finds it more conveinent to hire illegals at.

He described the SFPD honor guard members as not acting "professional and squared-away", during the capitol steps-walk of surviving families, and the following ceremony when the roll-call was read by the "gov."

I'll see him on Monday and get all the details, since you're asking.

Funny how everyone goes after the lowest base of the problem.

Who do you think pays them? Who gives them work, crappy wages, horrid living conditions to live in?

If government wants to get tough on illegals maybe they should go after the business that makes huge amounts of profit from people just trying to leave their country and make a living for themselves.

I understand cleaning up the country, but seperating families when the parents are illegals and their children are citizens is just plain wrong.

Actively protect borders and find people trying to enter our country NOW, but the illegals that have made a life in america and are raising a generation in the U.S.A already, turn them into citizens
