Ok, I was kind of agreeing with the judge, until I read the part where the kid approached the police turning himself in, and then handed the gun over wrapped in a bannana. A FRIGGEN bannana???????????????
Two things. First, I understand the frustration on the judge's part, but I think this is a violation of the 8th Amendment. Second, as a social worker dealing with persons with developmental disabilities, the fact that he has a developmental disability should not be a factor in determining weather or not the individual should be facing charges.
OK, I'll agree with that. I have three children, all of whom I've taught to respect the law and the officers that enforce the law. Lets hold the parents accountable.
An example of how screwed up our justice system is becoming..
The "Judge" wanted to send a message that these actions will not be tolerated?
My question: Send a message to whom? Other 12 year olds?? How funny..
This judge needs to be retired.
