We have to get this guy out!

Mark Lloyd is an Obama's Czar. Lloyd is the Associate General Counsel and Chief Diversity Officer at the FCC.

In 2006, Mark Lloyd wrote a book entitled "Prologue to a Farce: Communications and Democracy in America." In the book, he made a policy suggestion similar to what he wrote in his report "The Structural Imbalance of Political Talk Radio." In the book, he suggests corporate redistribution of wealth, specifically, making private broadcasting companies pay licensing fees equal to their total operating costs, and giving those fees to public broadcasting. He stated, “The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) must be reformed along democratic lines and funded on a substantial level.”
So, let’s gut the private companies and put them out of business. In other words, he wants governmental control over the media. That’s never a good thing.

Along with the private money being paid to public broadcasting, Lloyd would regulate much of the programming on these stations to make sure they focused on “diverse views” (code word for liberal, or progressive) and government activities.

“Local public broadcasters and regional and national communications operations should be required to encourage and broadcast diverse views and programs,” wrote Lloyd. “These programs should include coverage of all local, state and federal government meetings, as well as daily news and public issues programming.

“In addition, educational programs for children and adults, and diverse, independent personal and cultural expression should be encouraged,” he wrote.
Again, he wants to dictate what programming is carried. Again he wants government to run it.

In his book, Lloyd also wrote: “It should be clear by now that my focus here is not freedom of speech or the press (...) This freedom is all too often an exaggeration (...)
Screw the Constitution. Diversity, at least his view of it is more important.

He said, “There are two primary explanations typically put forth to explain the disparities between conservative and progressive talk radio programming:

The “repeal” of the Fairness Doctrine in 1987 gave station owners and hosts free reign to fill their programming with ideologically conservative content.

The demands of the marketplace favor conservative shows and audiences over progressive ones.
So he admits private companies make a profit by developing programs which people watch. That’s wrong. How dare they? The government needs to ensure they show programming that is progressive, even though progressive radio has been a dismal failure. How do we demand the progressive programs are shown? By having the government control content.

One of the most scary thoughts this guy has is his approval of what Chavez did in Venezuela.

"In Venezuela, with Chavez, is really an incredible revolution - a democratic revolution. To begin to put in place things that are going to have an impact on the people of Venezuela.

"The property owners and the folks who then controlled the media in Venezuela rebelled - worked, frankly, with folks here in the U.S. government - worked to oust him. But he came back with another revolution, and then Chavez began to take very seriously the media in his country.
Yeah, Chavez seized the media and now the media can only show what Chavez wants them to show. Chavez then used that control and other measures to stifle all dissent. Yet this guy thinks that is the method used in a democratic government.

It sounds like the way the former USSR did things; it sounds like the way Nazi Germany did things; it sounds like what is occurring in Iran... and Red China... and Cuba.

Do we want what this guy is pedaling? Or do we get him tossed too?

There really have been one too many out there people for my comfortability level in this government.

Not only is this guy basically almost a Communist in government control but even some people in Congress have said nice cheery things about Fidel Castro and others.

Anyone ever stop to wonder why people flock to the Conservative Talk Shows and not the Liberal Talk Shows? Might be because those Liberal Talk Shows get people like Garuffalo (sp) and Chavez/Castro lovers on them. This Nation is much more Center or Conservative then they think (Not necessarily Republican).

Anyone left who still doesn't believe that Obama is a Marxist?

State run radio? State run TV? What next? State run Internet? I hope 2010 arrives in a hurry and the people send the liberal Congress members to the unemployment line! And in 2012, we get a new and decent president who actually will keep the oath of office to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the US, rather than circumvent, ignore, and invalidate it.
        Jubilant Patriotic Republican

America gave Obama the benefit of the doubt when they elected him. Obama is now giving America the doubt of the benefit of his governance......Change you can bereave in!..JPR
