  • The Media is biased- it's official now

ABC has decided to finally publicly admit to being the cheerleaders of the Obama administration. We now have our very own Pravda.

ABC TURNS PROGRAMMING OVER TO OBAMA; NEWS TO BE ANCHORED FROM INSIDE WHITE HOUSE
    Tue Jun 16 2009 08:45:10 ET

On the night of June 24, the media and government become one, when ABC turns its programming over to President Obama and White House officials to push government run health care -- a move that has ignited an ethical firestorm!

    Highlights on the agenda:

ABCNEWS anchor Charlie Gibson will deliver WORLD NEWS from the Blue Room of the White House.

The network plans a primetime special -- 'Prescription for America' -- originating from the East Room, exclude opposing voices on the debate.

I guess it's not just a silly conspiracy theory dreamed up by those ridiculous neo-cons, is it?

Can you say communism? Didn't all of those wonderful communist countries control the media? Not seeing much difference here - with the exception of the media bending over and offering to be screwed with a smile on their face rather than hostile take-over of the news.

You can bet that supporters of this administration will see nothing wrong with this type of arrangement - no conflict of interest, no outrage that the media's agenda is NOT in reporting unbiased truth but in pushing a specific political ideology to the American public.

    Definitely barf worthy news...

What is truly said is that the Republicans requested ABC to allow them to speak during the program about their ideas for health care and were turned down. It is very scary when only one side is getting out and that is the one of those in power. I think we are seeing the end of the free press in America.

I'll start worrying when they take Fox News off the air for not speaking highly of the administration, and they lock up Bill O'riely and Sean Hannity...

They have already been tossing around the Fairness Doctrine.

This administration seems to believe that they are untouchable. Last night the Dem's shut down the house (another Pelosi lights out maneuver) because the Republicans where questioning another big spending bill. Part of that bill was giving mega bucks to ACORN - who is already under investigation. Another part had to do with investigating Pelosi's lies about the 'torture' and what she says the CIA told her and what she actually knew. According to House rules - there is a 15 minute time allowed for discussion for each part of a bill. This was denied. Here's the good part - They called the House back into session later in the night - giving most people (Republican's) little chance of showing up in time to vote. They held the vote on the bill and passed it along with the parts that the Republicans were questioning... If that isn't WRONG - I don't know what is.

Bet ABC isn't going to tell anyone about that.

Journalism is dead...They go w/ what's the in thing, they're desperate for ratings!...Back then it was cool to hate on Bush, today it's who can ride Obama that hardest...

Like M-11 we get the government we deserve, once this country is in complete disarray then people will learn...Well let's hope so!...

I would hope that ABC doesn't report the ACORN allegation as a fact... BECAUSE IT ISN'T TRUE.

As to the fairness doctrine, Obama has not tried to reimplement it, That claim is also false.

Yea Obama likes a debate as long as there's no one there that can disagree with him.

Where are all of the libs on this thread because I want to hear how we get all the facts when there's no opposing voices to be heard?

This is certainly not the first time that the news media has reported live from the White House. As to the bias in the upcoming coverage, we are just going to have to wait and see the actual broadcast. The RNC is accusing ABC of bias ahead of time and the article is nothing but Drudge's attempt to sensationalize them. Drudge sure made a lot of assumptions from a press release saying nothing more than that ABC was going to report live from the White House. I wouldn't put to much value in what they are saying until I see the actual broadcast.

                        Lib!

Well most programs they have someone from each side speaking their point of view...

As for the news it self, well we'll have to wait and see the numbers do the real talking/new reporting (ie: unemployment figures, economy, job creation, ect)...

The question is what the fair amount of time to give President Obama?...So far it's been 5 months since he took over...

You need to brush up on your reading comprehension.

THAT was not what I stated. I'll type very slowly. One of the issues on the bill the House was to vote on was funding (our tax dollars) that was earmarked for ACORN. That funding was being questioned because ACORN is already under investigation and should not be given funds until the investigation is completed. (Yes - there is an on going investigation).

Pelosi turned off the lights AGAIN and told everyone to leave. The Dems were informed that they would reconvene later - the Repubs and anyone against passing the bill in the House were not called and informed of the sudden meeting to vote on the bill until the last minute - many didn't show up in time. They went ahead and voted and the bill passed through the House.

MIND YOU - the members of the house are entitled to at least 15 minutes of discussion for each article in each bill if they so chose. Pelosi (who was also part of that discussion - voting FOR an investigation regarding her statements pertaining to torture and what she says the CIA told her and what she actually knew) denied the members the option of discussing and/or voting. That was totally wrong and a misuse of power.

                          This happened last night.

AND WHERE IN MY POST DID I SAY OBAMA TRIED TO ENACT THE FAIRNESS DOCTRINE???? I didn't. You need to do some research and see what the House and Senate have discussed regarding the FD. I doubt you will - if the Huffington Post didn't mention it - it must not exist! The FD has been brought up by the Dems on more than one occasion in reference to certain radio/TV hosts - and a certain broadcast station. The fact they they discuss this and the manner in which they discuss it - is bad.

Normally when an issue is being discussed - as in they are trying to get support for it - the opposing side is allowed to respond and give their information and their reasons NOT to support the issue. They will not allow an opposing view point. This is nothing more than an infomercial that pushes the political agenda of the leftwing.

I really didn't think YOU would find anything wrong with that - after all - you're alllll about fairness and impartiality, both sides of the issue giving their side of the story aren't you?

I think they've given up on FD and now they're looking at control through local diversity and ownership of the stations.
