  • This election is getting interesting

Wow, I had so much too say but things are happening so fast.

First, McCAin picks Gov Palin to be his VP nominee. Its obvious hedid it to appease al the Hillary Lovers. But this is where I think he messed up. As with all cro magnum Republicans, he thinks that putting "any woman" on show it will make woman happy. basically he is asaying "They want a woam, lets give em a woman" If I were a woman I'd be insuted. They didnt want just "any" woam. They wanted Hillary. What a slap inthe face.

Secondly, this woam has no experience. Oh wait, she was a Mayor right? She was the Mayor of a 9,000 person city. She is the Governor of a state of 670,053 people in it. My city alone has 3 million people.Thats like somone bring the manager of a McDonalds wanting to go straight to being the CEO or Coca Cola enterprizes. There is a huge differnece in running a city of 9,000 and a country of 300 million.

Now the Republicans were smart. They will say she is young, married to her high school sweetherat, has five kids one of which is disabled. They may get that sympthy vote and I giveit to them. and they made a good move of announcing it the day afetr Obamas speech. It took attention off of him and putit all on McCain. Another smart move.

However, thats whats I thought last week. After this new information about her being under investigation of firing one of your brothers because he divorced her sister and the wholw unwed daufghter being pregnant. i am not sure how that will go over.

I have no issue withher daughter being pregnant. Its no big deal withme. The issue is thatRepublicans are always going around acting like they are the epitome of family values and morals. This situation with her unwed daughter looks kind of hypicrtical.

Also how do you guys feel about the Trooper thing?

Look I am a Conservative Democrat. I dont hate McCain. Most of you guys dont like Obama soley because he is a Depmcrat. You really havent listened to his views. As most AMericans dont listen to the views. They just vote down party lines. We have to get away from that way of thinking.

    Good point of view.

When it comes to the Trooper firing, the silence is unbearable. Maybe if we don't say anything, it'll go away????

I don't like obama for many reasons. I'd vote for a democrat if he/she wasn't a socialist with a long list of reasons NOT to vote for him/her.

      I've listened to his views.

Yes we do have to get away from that exact thinking.

She had the trooper fired because he was out of control, should have been fired long ago, and his superiors were not taking action. Some cops need to be fired, and he was one of them.

That last bit of your post is interesting -- it echoes the founding fathers, who didn't want political parties... Oh, how nice that would be, if each issue was decided on its individual merits, rather than how it fits into the over all Republocrat standard viewpoints.

Well hey, when your state has so few people, unsavory incidents like these will crop up...

...After all, if her sister divorced the guy for being abusive, it wouldn't be a stretch to believe that behavior carried over into the job... especially a job that requires the use of force from time to time.

Who knows, hopefully the investigation will be impartial.

Actually, she didn't fire the trooper. She fired the "Public Safety Commissioner" for "performance related issues". She cited, among other things, that he failed to recruit and hire enough troopers. Stating that he wasn't hiring enough in order to pump up his budget.

HE (the PSC) is the one turning around and saying that he got fired because of Palin's brother-in-law (which should have been fired since charges were filed against him for making death threats).

Basically, the way I read it, is that the PSC is just bitter about it and is trying to bring her down with him.

(She offered him another job and even had her A.G. office open an investigation into the allegations about her staff).

              Just FYI....

Right, she had her AG open the investigation. Even with wasting all the money on this investigator, we will never know the complete truth. We would either have to take a politician's word, or the word of someone she fired.

The state legislature is doing an investigation as well.

No matter what happens you won't believe it because they are republicans.

. The issue is thatRepublicans are always going around acting like they are the epitome of family values and morals. This situation with her unwed daughter looks kind of hypicrtical.

She was not a pick to appease Hillary voters..any one with an ounce of intelligence knows a rabid Hillary supporter would not vote for a conservative woman. Of course you being a dem are much smarter than those cro-magnum republican stategists

You mean like being a community organizer kind of experience? I agree, she has about as much experience as BHO. The difference being her experience is that of the person making a final decision while his that of one of many serving on committees. Another difference is in January09 if BHO wins the least experienced person on the dem ticket will be in charge.

Get your facts straight. She fired the public safety officer, and from what some AK LEO"S have said, she can do so for any or no reason. The PSO works at the pleasure of the govenor.

You (and many others on here from what I have read) have a warped sense of family values. When your child makes a mistake you don't kick them out and abandon them do you? The fact her 17 year old is pregant means....nothing. As a parent you can only teach your child what you think is right, it is up to them to follow it. Mistakes happen. Instead of compounding the mistake by getting an abortion, they are facing it head on.

Before making a ridiculous comment about why we don't support BHO, try reading some posts. I think most on here are quiet clear why they don't support him. 1) He will raise taxes, everyones 2) He is not a supporter of the 2A 3) He has been quiet clear, he is going to increase spending for current programs and create new ones-never has worked in the past why do it again 4) He has lied about his "vote" against going to war-the vote was in 03-04 he didn't take office until 05. 5) he voted against funding the troops currently in the field. The list can go on.
