I just read the Newsweek article, the other day, about how the Imus thing blew up.

Just as there are religeous-right "activists" who monitor the airwaves for whatever they feel is wrong for the rest of the world to listen to, then report their findings, leading to calls for boyctts, etc....there are lefty "activists" who are actually assigned by lefty groups to monitor the content of broadcasts of conservatives they fear (Limbaugh, Medved, Coulter, Ingrahm, et, al.) Kind of odd, as Imus is anything but a conservative. He supported Kerry.

Anyhow, per the article, some activist, listened to his alloted hours of Imus' taped broadcasts, heard the insults about the women, notified his handlers and you know the rest of the story.

The truth, also, is this...the rest of the world is too busy living life to listen to everything Imus, Limbaugh, or you name them (right or left) has to say...we have kids to raise, bills to pay, places to be, and things to do. We wipe and move on...oh, wait, speaking of monitoring, my wife doesn't like that particular saying of mine...we fluff, fold, and move on!

Yes, I insist, go read it. You will fare better than this guy.

He doesn't seem to realize that the only way to enforce the 1st Amendment (and all others) inevitably relies on the 2nd Amendment.
Wow. BlackOp I thought you had more sense than this. Where did I base my limited non-anti gun view on the Bible? Canada has socialized medicine. That's it. Learn about it before speaking out, it prevents embarassing moments like this.
I'm aware who I work for. I'm also aware that our position gives us powers and authorities and equipment that goes along with those duties, and shouldn't be handed out like candy. Lord, I met a guy last week who is BLIND (!!!) and has a gun permit!

Funny. There are other countries with the same freedoms that the 1st Amendment has yet doesn't include the need to carry assault rifles?
Thanks for jacking my thread because of your sensitivities fellas.

See this is the problem. You want to just wipe it away and forget about it. Meanwhile, injustice will continue to happen to guys like Imus and Kramer, who I don't personally like, but has as much right to speak as Sharpton and 50 Cent.

Imus can still talk all he wants. He is free to say whatever he wants. He just isn't getting paid to do it anymore. There is a difference between Freedom of Speech and being a radio talk show host.
