Sadly, it was a flop. There were 250 vendors and over the three day run, only 150 people showed up.

It was the result of many problems. While COVID infection numbers had dropped and many states (including Nevada) had eliminated their COVID restrictions, a lot of people stayed home anyway. In addition, the United States still had its international COVID travel restrictions in place, so the collectors from Europe, Japan and Canada who usually came to the show (and there are many) couldn't be there. Lastly, was the issue of politics. Normally this event is advertised in local newspapers and media to attract members of the public, but given the temperment of the times, the promoters didn't do so for fear of attracting ANTIFA and BLM who would come and disrupt the event.

I had three tables at the show and spent around $1,500 for travel, show fees, hotel and food for myself and my assistant, and sold about $60 worth of items, mainly to other vendors. Oh well, I'll make it up on eBay and at the Porky D. Swine show in January.

I didn't know they were still a thing. I haven't been to one in decades.

    National Police Collectors Show

For those of you who are interested, the National Police Collectors Show will be held June 12 & 13 at the Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks, Nevada. This is a major annual event that draws police collectors from around the world and offers just about anything related to law enforcement including badges, uniforms, pins, patches, patrol car decals, and an occasional, siren, call box, or bubble top light just to name a few. Sparks is next door to Reno.

This is actually the 2020 show that was postponed until now due to COVID. The 2021 National Police Collectors Show will be held in St. Charles, Missouri in October of this year.
