  • Evaluate my HIIT

I've worked up to and do the following on an elliptical trainer at a 15 incline:

    TIME RESISTANCE LEVEL
    3 minutes 3- warm up________
    2 minute 5_________________
    Interval 1- 1 minute 11________________
    2 minutes 5_________________
    Interval 2- 2 minutes 10________________
    3 minutes 5_________________
    Interval 3- 3 minutes 8_________________
    4 minutes 6_________________
    Interval 4- 3 minutes 10________________
    4 minutes 7_________________
    Interval 5- 1 minute 11________________
    3 minutes 7_________________
    5 minutes 3- cool down________
    TOTAL 36 mins.
Avg. RPM 55+/Cool down drops from 65 to 40 by
    5 RPMs per minute

I end up burning about 615 calories.

Any thoughts or advice on how to increase it as I get more fit?
Those who are successful at what they do don't give a rip about what others think about them.

Once you get to where you are more fit and can run and do other HIIT routines ditch the elliptical. There is another world out there full of HIIT that will bust your *****.

But good work so far, keep it up. Remember it's not the amount time one spends on working, it is the amount of work expanded in a short period of time that really does the damage.

I would agree with that. I dont care much for the elliptical, but know it is beneficial for those starting out or with injuries/joint problems.
Sprints and tabatas particularly are awesome.
