I listen to Rancid, Bad Religion, Generation X, The Clash, The Ramones, Social Distortion, Bounsing Souls, Swinging Utters, Green Day, Sex Pistols, and a little Rage Against the Machine. A little old skool mixed with new stuff.
It's all fun and games 'till the cops show up!

For Alt/ rock, I like listening to Southern Culture on the Skids or Reverend Horton Heat. Bob Marley and the Wailers.

I've never really been into the whole "I'm angry and I'm going to act like I'm blowing a gasket so I can lift!" thing. My last gym played the booty channel on XM and the BASS! killed me. So, I got an iPod and loaded it up with alt/ rock.

I also dig some japanese flute and more tranquil stuff for distance/cardio work.

But, now I have a gym where the radio isn't on and there's one tv. Unless there's a media addict in there, I prefer the hum of the elliptical.
          I like it quiet.

But, I'm going to check out the cadence thing. It'll be nice to feel like a have a corporal chef on my 6 barking at me while I run.

I come in peace, I didn't bring artillery. But I am pleading with you with tears in my eyes: If you **** with me, I'll kill you all.

                      If I'm doing weights:
                      Nobuo Uematsu
                      Mozart
                      Bach
                      Shopan

                      If I'm doing cardio:
                      Dragonforce
                      http://youtube.com/watch?v=0jgrCKhxE1s

Nothing. Ever. Beats. Dragonforce when I want to run.

I create my own workout playlists by finding tracks on https://www.getsongbpm.com. They have a rock section with a load of artists I find based on a specific tempo then I put them on my Spotify playlist so I can get in a groove for my workout session. A few good choices on my alt rock playslist of Queens of the Stone Age, Killswitch Engage and Rage against the Machine.
