      A variation of what Gottso described, keep your feet on the ground and lift your upper body as far as you can get it and then hold it. Another good exercise is back extensions using large therapy ball.
      Cowboys in town. Trouble expected.

        Your lower back is a base muscle for your body so it is important that it be strong for a good strong core.

        At the gym I work out in they actually have a machine geared for your lower back. It is basically like a reverse situp with the resistance as you push backward.
