It is a knot in your muscle with lactic acid build up. When the massage therapist works it out they are more or less untieing the knot in your muscle. It may just be where you carry your stress. I get them in the ball of my right foot and in my shoulder blades. They hurt like heck every time somebody touches them but sooooo much better after some deep work has been done. If you can find a massage therapist with a Sports Massage certificate they will know these well. Your liscense req's in TX are pretty good so it shouldn't be that hard to find somebody. If you are having trouble finding someone though, check with one of your local college teams and see who they use. They should be able to give you some good references.

My wife could explaine this a lot better than I can, she has well over 1k hours and knows the body better than some Dr's Myself, I just try to pick up what I can about her chosen profession.

This may sound awfully old fashioned, but I recommend a trip to your family doctor.

Cool, go get a few more until that knot is completely gone. Each subsequent one should be easier on you since the pain is going away. I know that when I have my wife do my feet she needs to take the first 15 minutes very light just to loosen me up before she goes deep.
