My mile and a half time when going through spec ops screening was 8:50-9:00. Now, I can jog it in around 10:00-10:30 and actually run it in around 9:15-9:20.

I ran a 5:01 mile last Sunday. Sprinted, actually. Felt like I was gonna hurl.

Can I ask how the test is usually done? For example do they have laps or a halfway marker or something?

When I was in high school, I could run it in about 8:30. When I first started police testing, I was 22 years old, 6'1" and about 170 lbs. I was usually running it in about 10:20. Now, seven years later, after developing more muscle mass at around age 25, I'm 6'1" and about 215 lbs. I can usually run it in around 11:10.

The ones I've done have typically been on a track of varying lengths rather than on a road course.

I ran a 1.5 in 11:07 at 6"5 245. The ones that I have seen run their 1.5 in 9 minutes or less are light in body weight with not much muscle or upper body strength.
