Would anyone happen to know where I can find a good set of gymnastic rings and a not too expensive weight vest? I've looked at a few items online, but wanted to know if someone had used some of the XFIT stuff or if they can recommend another brand, thanks!

Christian's Fitness Factory has the cheapest gymnastic rings that I know of-$44.99. I did a review on them and they scored well.
I also have a set of Xtreme Rings from www.gymnasticbodies.com I prefer the feel of these rings (which cost about $59), but they are almost identical to the CFF ones.

I use an 18 foot chuck of 3/8 inch rope and two radiased 90 degree 1"OD gray PVC. Total cost was about $4.
I tie a loop handle with the PVC inside the loop on each end. I tie the loop off to the main rope using Prusik knots. This makes the handle sizes, and thus the height of the handles easily adjustable. I can then clip that to a carabiner (in my basement), hang it over my pullup bar (outside), or hang it over any other object 7 to 10 feet off the ground (playground equipment, tree branches, etc.).
