Ever heard of Snus?

Hey all, I like a lot of people, am completely and unfortunately addicted to nicotine like a large portion of folks in this world. I used to smoke but couldn't stand the smell, breath, exhaustion so I switched solely to dip. I quit, came back, quit, came back... you know the drill. I'm only 25 but started young and have wished I never had. A few months ago I had a buddy who was trying some of that camel snus stuff and I bummed one from him. I started doing the research on Snus and come to find out, it's made completely different than American tobacco products.

Anyways, I'm not a huge fan of the camel stuff and if have tried it and agree, don't be discouraged. I did use it though while they were on promotion, something like $1.76 a can, cheaper than my T-wolf anyways. So I used the camel snus until I made an order with a company that I've grown quite fond of that I won't mention here cause I don't want to sound like a sales pitch, (If your interested, PM me and I'll shoot you the link). I made an order of real deal Swedish Snus and havn't looked back since, the TSNA levels are rediculously low, it's made to a food quality standard, it has the freaking INGREDIENTS on the can (In Swedish mind you but you can google "translator" and see for your self that the main ingredients are Water, Tobacco and Salt).

I don't want to sound giddy or anything but I'm trying to spread the word to as many folks as I can because I know what nicotine addiction is like and if there is a way to get your vitamin N fix in a "Safer" means, then I'm all for it and I'm going to try to help out anyone I can.

It truly is spitless however I suggest carrying a bottled water around to help get the first few swollows down then its pretty much smooth sailing. You keep it in your upper lip to the side and no one can even tell your getting your nicotine fix. I look forward to this when I do become a Police Officer because I can pretty much do this anywhere it is legal and still maintain my professionalism.

I've switched completely from American chewing tobacco (Copenhagen pouches) to Snus. It's a bad habit to have, but I figure it's the least damaging way. (Yeah it's the addict in me speaking )

Some studies on the Snus type have indicated it does not have a positive correlation with cancer. In fact, as far as I know the Swedish government allowed the warning of "Snus may cause cancer" to be removed and is now "Snus may have negative effects on your health". I guess a lot of it has to do with Snus being "steam cured" instead of "Fire cured" like American tobacco. Plus, it's not as sweet and tooth rotting as American stuff. Most of it is sweetened with xylitol, so it is not as damaging to your teeth.

So yes, I'll raise my hand and say I am a Snus user . Also, I don't need to spit at all with it. I hate the idea of spitting in uniform, so I refrained from any type of Copenhagen.

I even drink water with it in my mouth without it upsetting my stomach. If I ever swallowed Copenhagen, I'd probably die after I puked. Also, I noticed that switching over, I can actually go like 3-4 days without my Snus fix and not want to kill someone. That is something that could not be said about Copehagen.

I don't recommend anyone start though.. regardless of anything said it's a bad habit, addictive and expensive. Plus if you never try it, you will never have that 600 lb gorrilla on your back pulling on you to do more.

I coudn't agree More about the not starting, never in my life would I wish this addiction on anyone else! However it is a shame that here in America this stuff hasn't caught on. There was a study where they followed something close to 300k construction workers over the course of like 30yrs, divided into 3 groups, Snusers, Smokers and Niether. Over the course of 30 years the Snusers had no more of a chance of getting all the usual "Tobacco" related cancers as the Non Smokers/Snusers. The only difference in fact was that in the group who did niether 4 out of 100k people developed pancreas cancer while those who Snused 8 out of 100k people developed pancreas cancer. You are also 100% right in that they no longer have to put anything about cancer on their cans or packaging. I havn't tried Los (Loose) yet, only pouches but look forward to trying some los in the future. I'm glad to hear that another fellow dipper made the big switch, maybe we can convince our buddies out there smoking and dipping to take a closer look. dlmoore1 Have you tried Skruff yet? It taste Identical to Cope, well to me at least

They got it my friend. That is what most people end up switching to after a while. It's, from what I understand, still nothing like American Dip, its more moist and you "hand bake" it or use an icetool to make it into a "pris"

I like most snus flavors actually. Skruff is good, especially the "Extra Stark" variety.

I like General White Portion and Cliq Qui (Yeah it's fruity, but I like it...haha). In fact I just order 20 cans of each.

I like the idea of "damage control", which is if you are smoking right now, you should switch to snus due to the lessening of the negative effects.

I always recommend snus to anyone I know who likes smoking/dipping, but most people are pretty unaccepting of it. To each their own.

dlmoore1, I know what you mean, about telling everyone I know. It's funny though, even the hard core dippers that I've come across smell it and are like oh wow, that's way to stout! If they would just try it they would see the light. I swollow it all too and it's great because like you said it doesn't give you an upset stomach or anything. The Skruf Stark was my first can I had and that's when I fell in love with it. The Claq Qui is pretty close to my favorite as well, but I gotta tell you, if you havn't tried the new 01 edition, you need to give it a shot! It's pretty good. I'm not a big fan of the General Wintergreen, it didn't seem to taste too swell, but the Thunder Extra Strong is really really good but very stout, something like 16-18mg of Nicotine.

snus gets me through the 12 hour shifts. whenever I have to clean or do laundry I pop it in....and a few extra times a night just for fun haha. I seem to be addicted to swedish things...Snus and ABSOLUT are my favorite naughtys.

I actually tried some of the Camel Frost Snus last night on a whim, and it was the most terrible thing I've ever had. It was so sweet it almost made me puke..I can't believe they'd ever put that on the market. I wonder what the other "regular american dips" taste like to me now.. I oughta try them out. Swedish Snus is soo much better, and doesn't rot your teeth with 500g of sugars per pouch. Camel snus tastes like a sugar packet with nicotine mixed in..disgusting.

I guess that's what Camel is aiming for..typical America likes sugar and nicotine is addictive!

your problem was that you tried the frost, I'm not sure about the snus, never tried it, but I know when they made the frost smokes, they were not very good, strong minty menthol, I smoke menthols, but that was nasty
