  • INSANITY by Beachbody.

I just wanted to see if anybody out there is trying this program?

I did p90x for 2 rounds (6 months total) and needed to switch it up a little. I'm on day 4 of Insanity and I tell you what... it's no joke. The cardio makes everything else I've done look like a joke.

OMG, that looks like some pretty intense stuff.
Why are there so many babies on O.com? Creole, you and your buddy JPSO Recruit help me out on this one....

Yeah, it really is. I know sweat doesn't automatically = a great workout but I can tell you that when I'm done the 30-40 minutes, I can barely walk. This makes the plyo workouts on p90x look like a walk in the park.

I have some friends who did p90x with me and jumped on this insanity bangwagon before me - they speak very highly of it. I'm hoping to have good results with it. I'll keep everyone updated.

It was great. I've posted my experiences on here... do a search for p90x.

Quickly though: Understand that it's at least 1 hour, 6x a week. That's a lot of time and dedication. If you are not willing to do it, or think you'll putter out after 2 weeks, save yourself the hassle. You also have to eat right, then again, that's part of any healthy workout regimen.

If you have specific questions that aren't already posted on here or the other threads, let me know. Good luck.

I'm starting the first workout besides the fit test in about 30 minutes. I can't wait...but I know that I'm going to be a hurting little puppy for a long time after today

But the results.....my god the results will be worth it!

Hey, marcusindc, let me know how Insanity is working for you. I'm trying to get in shape for the academy coming up, and this thing looks like it would do a phenomenal job.

Well, I did the first Insanity workout today: plyometric cardio circuit...Holy crap!

It was awesome! Yea it was hard, but the intensity of the workout and Shaun T yelling at you to keep pushing, it just pumped you up enough to keep digging a little deeper. I started to burn out around 17 minutes left in, and had to do only about 10-15 secs of each move, but I did more then I would did with P90x.

I can also say, I had sweat pouring off me like Niagara falls, and my calf's are feeling like I'm not going to be doing much walking tomorrow, but I feel good!

A word of warning to anyone who is thinking about getting or is about to start....

GET YOUR BODY WARMED UP FIRST!!

Seriously... start doing some jumping exercises, and especially focus on your calfs. I didn't, and I'm having to skip day three because mine are so sore I can barely walk. They don't get a rest, so get them used to doing this kind of thing!

is INTENSITY striclly to burn calories and extra fat? Or can it help muscle growth and overall strength? Is it functional strength?

I think you have to send a before and after picture to get the t-shirt.
