  • Suppressor in New York

Sorry if this has been covered but I can’t seem to find a clear answer. I was told law enforcement in nys can buy suppressors. Can anybody confirm if this is true? Does this mean I can go to an FFL pay the ATF tax stamp and I’m good to go as long as I stay employed as a police officer?

I know this is old and I apologize for the necro, but you absolutely can have a suppressor as a LEO in NY.

Active duty police are permitted to have silencers, once you are no longer a police officer you cannot possess them....what's the use. Wonder what department policies would say about them, are you covered if you can't use it for duty?

New York State has a new bill proposed for suppressors....but still in committee.
