What does your dept. issue for duty ammo in your .223 rifle. I just got an issued Colt AR-15 A-3, strangely I am not issued ammo? Weird? I have been told a good hollow point such as Hornady TAP etc...

If going with Hornady TAP, get the heavier 75gr loading. The lighter loads don't penetrate adequately. They are more like ballistic tips, which are for prairie dogs and the like. If you can't find the Hornady 75gr TAP, get a 69gr BTHP from Federal, Winchester, etc...

Or, find some bonded ammo. It penetrates nicely. We shoot 62gr bonded match hollow points. But, we only get 20 rounds, so I have a bunch of SS109 ammo as backups."All statements made shall be protected by the First Ammendment to the U.S. Constitution in which I have sworn an oath to protect."
Just don't expect me to agree with yours...
