The National Tactical Officers Association (www.ntoa.org) has an information package on patrol rifles available to members on CD or paper. If you're not an NTOA member, there's probably someone in your or a nearby department who is. NTOA also has several other publications on patrol rifles available.

You might also check with the Alabama Tactical Officers Association. There should be a link from the NTOA website.

The FBI has conducted extensive ballistic testing of law enforcement ammunition. This information is available upon a letterhead request by a sergeant or above. The request must specify that the data will not be released outside your agency. The request can be sent to:
    FBI Academy
    Ballistic Research Facility
    Quantico, Virginia 22135

    Good luck and be safe.

    AR15 Policy

I am looking for any info or policies for departments that allow officers to carry AR15's or .223 caliber rifles while on patrol. Also any ballistic data relating to .223 penetration versus pistol caliber rifles. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to email any info on the subject. Thanks.
