I think the LSP is still using the Sig 220 .45 in standard DA action. They have issued that for awhile now. I havn
t spoken to one about it since I switched jobs a few years ago, but that was what they carried then.

NCSHP uses the Beretta Cougar in .357 Sig. First shot is DA, subsequent are SA. Some folks are issued AR15's and all are issued Beretta 12 gauge shotguns--model 1201

State Police - Hwy. Patrols - Your Last Post

Bastia,I've already scanned the list you provided and I'm sure it's going to be very helpful. Could you please advise its source and/or how current it is? A few of those you show conflict with information of which I myself have direct knowledge. Just wanting to get it right with the help of you and other forum members. Thanks.

I havent looked but are you sure that the listing for Kentucky is correct? I thought S&W ditched all 10's (esp. the 1076) when the FBI told them to get farked.
Im currently ignoring ghostsix, Khalid72 & wcucj

Kentucky State Police and the S&W 1076

                        Chinchilla,

The Kentucky State Police has, indeed, recently gone to the Glock 35 in .40 S&W after 10 years when the S&W 1076 in 10mm was their issue for uniformed carry.

Admittedly, they went to the 1076 about the time the FBI was dropping it so the wisdom of choosing the 1076 in the first place might have seemed questionable. However, the experience the KSP had with the 1076 was good as they loaded them with the more potent original velocity rounds as opposed to the FBI- Lite medium velocity rounds.

The deal was that S&W would provide parts for the 1076s for only 10 years and, as that time was about to expire, the KSP knew they had to make a change even though they had several unissued, brand- new -in -the box, 1076s still on hand. S&W offered an even trade for all the 900+ 1076s in exchange for new S&Ws in .40 S&W caliber and it looked for a while like that was going to happen. Reasoning, though, that they needed to maintain as much weapons commonalty as possible they ultimately chose the Glock Practical-Tactical model as the Troopers already had Glock 27s and had training with the Glock system.
