    People can turn the simplest topic into brain surgery if they have the ability to make money off of it. There is some truth to needing to match the recoil spring to what you shoot, but it's far more relevant to custom loads and larger caliber ARs like the .308 and 6.5CM types. For your average 5.56 combat-style AR, it's far more simple.

    I use Wolff Gunsprings for most of my stuff, and I have a JP Silent Capture spring in the works for my MATEN .308 DMR build.

        Same here. Other than getting rid of the "twang" noise, I'm not sure what benefit you'd see in swapping it for a high dollar one. I'm no expert, though.
