  • Enterprise Arms=Hot Garbage

I know it's "Entreprise," but in my opinion, they don't need their name spelled correctly.
I spent alot of time researching what kind of .308 rifle I wanted and decided it was between an FAL and M1A. I went with the FAL. In CT we can't have an FN FAL but we can have DSA, or Enterprise etc. I went with Enterprise because the DSA I wanted was too expensive. So around late 2010 I ordered my FAL from Enterprise and got this:PICS Below

It came from Enterprise without a manual or magazine as advertised. I called them and shipped them, no problem. Later as I took it apart to clean etc. the dust cover was so tight I could not remove it and called again. They said to hit it with a piece of wood and a hammer. For $1300, I'm not hitting anything with a hammer- back it went, and it came back with the cover adjusted.
About 3 weeks ago, my FFL called and said my rifle was delivered. This was AFTER I got my rifle back after having the cover adjusted. They sent another rifle, with a simple sheet of paper indicating it was to be shipped to me and who it was from etc. I called them again, and they had no idea they sent another rifle. They did some searching around and realized they had some paperwork screw up- ok, fine- so they send a UPS label to ship it back to them.
Finally, I was able to go to range yesterday and shoot my FAL. I put about 2 magazines through it. I was shooting at a shoot'n see target from 75 yds. pasted on carboard about 1 meter high and about 2-3 feet across. I'm no firearms expert, but as a firearms instructor, I like to think I could hit that size target from 75 yds with a rifle. The rounds weren't even on cardboard, much less the target. I kentucky windaged down and left and realized where the bullets were going and had to correct alot to even have them hit paper. So close to 2 mags in, I have a stoppage and can't pull the bolt back. I open it up and realize the hammer had broken off. i didn't wait to get home and called them from the road. The best thing about this company I can say is that they are giving me my money back. That's it. They are horrible with paperwork (obviously if they send me two rifles, one of which with no paperwork) and their rifle is garbage. I have read about them prior to buying from them, but never read anything bad about them- nothing great, but nothing terrible either. Hopefully this will save a potential FAL buyer some heartache, my opinion is avoid Enterprise.

Wow....I have an Enterprise STG 58C, and have had no problems yet. I have fired 10 rounds through it, and it was right on at 100 yards. I got the rifle from one of my partner deputies who also sub contracts to Enterprise as a gunsmith....he said he did no work on it other than to put on the front quad rails.

I'm sorry to hear of your issues....it sounds like EA is doing the right thing for you. Maybe you should have kept the replacement rifle and sent in your original rifle.....lol

That's a lot of money for a gun that doesn't work. I know it's frustrating, but it sounds like they are/have been doing the right thing. Maybe you just got the lemon of the bunch.

Yes i am glad they are giving my money back, but I just have had nothing but negative with them. I could not believe the inaccuracy of the rifle, and then for it to break, I felt like I was being punked or something. For the amount of problems I have had with them, they should give away free rifles as an apology for selling such a F'ing dog-squeeze POS

I had a Colt Ar years ago give me some issues, buddy has a SIG rifle with issues. Does that mean they they are POS? Sounds like manufacturer is correcting the issue. Chevy is POS too since I had an issue with them....

When it comes to FALs, the word I've heard is that DSA is the only way to go.

Exactly. What matters is how the company handles the issue when there is a problem.

So if said company uses a government bail out that company is still a P.O.S right?

I've only fired one gun with Enreprise equipment on it...And it seemed to do "Ok", somewhere in between a Hi-Point and a FN.
