  • Replacing standard sig 229 sights

I just purchased a sig 229, but it came with standard sights in a straight 8 configuration, and I want to change them to a three-dot night sight. Does anyone know if there is anything special that needs to be done to change the sights that a typical gunsmith couln't or shouldn't do? Thanks for the input.

Although SIG makes a tool for sight replacements and adjustments (windage), most gunsmiths don't have or need it. Just a brass punch and a rubber mallet usually works just fine for either purpose.
