  • M4 Carrying Case

I need feedback on what others are using for transport and storage, for your M4's. Time to buy a better case that gives a bit more protection and is less identifiable as "hey....there's a gun in here"!

Primarily, the case will be used for simple transport. Ideally I would like to keep the M4 "together" versus broken down, but i'm looking at all options. It's not a top priority that the M4 be in a "ready to use" configuration, but that option is desireable. I've been exploring specific firearm cases, to modified sports bags, but haven't found the holy grail yet.

Links would help, but personal experience is what i'm really hoping for. thanks

This is what I have...pleased as punch with it, very very durable, good padding, and can't beat the price. Main zipper compatment for longarm (w velcro straps to secure it), 2ndary zipper pocket with two velcro pockets inside, (I keep targets, scope and cleaning rod). Three removable Molle pouches on the outide. Briefcase type carry handle on top, and should sling on back.

I have no personal experiences with cases that are made to not look like gun cases. However, if I wanted one, I'd google "Discreet Case" and check out the various offerings from Galati, Blackhawk, Eagle, etc...

      Good luck!

I have one of the cases pictured above in black. It's a decent case. Slap some band patches on it, or some skate patches and maybe it will slip past the sheep, but not those who know what to look for.

Honestly, I really don't try to disguise my weapons in regular day to day business. There are tactical situations where that could be advantageous, but they are few and far between.

If you really want to go low-profile, look at a softball gear bag. Get one of the ones that carries a bat and other crap. You may have to use a 20 round mag and no optics, but it's still a viable fighting rifle. The plus is, even guys my age still play softball, whereas it looks a little funny for me to haul around a skateboard.

For soft cases ace cases are great. Especially for the prices. Hard case Pelican cases are pretty hard to beat.

I actually use an ACE Case for my M4 right now. I have managed to tear the shoulder strap off. I need to contact ACE since it's got a lifetime warranty.

I have flown with an MP5SD in a padded, double tennis racket case. Works well for an SBR.

I just got a neat drag bag that is very obvious. This thread has been most interesting to follow and had me wondering briefly if the drag bag was the right way to go. But... I got the drag bag for a purpose.

Then when you posted this comment a light went off in my little brain cavity. AR's breakdown and will fit nicely in any of my suitcases I use for travel.
The various sports bags are also excellent ideas that I hadn't thought of. The added stickers that Blackdog mentioned are good too... except for me the only stickers I have are pro-gun.

They sell padded gun case/ violin cases at sportsmans warehouse. I have thought about it a few times.

The case I fly with screams GUN/Military/Police. No effort to conceal it, and that is by design.

Would that be the Pelican that the airport goons abused?
