    Apparently it's a .557

    The .557

That's the combination of inexperienced shooters (jackarses?) and a light weight weapon incapable of absorbing the recoil....

Yep .577 T-Rex. I had the displeasure to shoot one in the late 90's. As mentioned the rifle itself is not well suited to deal with amount of recoil that the cartridge produces. Something like over 10000 lbs of muzzle energy in a hunting type rifle with low weight, no suppressor or muzzle brake = one hell of a kick. Lets just say that I really have no desire to shoot it again.

          WTF!

I like big guns, but no thank you. Not much out there I can't kill with a .50 BMG and it doesn't recoil anywhere near that when properly setup.

That's funny. Every one stands bladed like we're shooting off-hand at the 300. You can watch their shoulders take all that impact!

When will the .577 T-Rex revolver become available?

Those guys are crazy. I watched a bunch of the videos where they were hunting using rifles and bizarre cartridges they made. Some of them are incredible.

That would give a whole new meaning to the phrase "hand cannon"!

I just wouldn't want to be the first to shoot it to find out if a human wrist can stand up to all that force!

As powerful as the .577 is, the .700 Nitro Express still owns the title but at that stage its all academic. $100+ a round. Definitely a rich man's upmanship rifle.

If you want to get into big bore academic's let's talk about the .950 JDJ. A 20mm cannon case necked up to .95 caliber.--It launched a 3,600 grain bullet about 2,200 ft/s. They chambered the round in extremely light weight rifles--around 100 lbs. Even at that weight it supposedly still physically knocked some people out.

100 pound rifles are "extremely light weight?" I'm feeling wimpy now.
