I'm looking for my first pair of duty boots. I'll be on standing/walking for most of a 10 hour shift so need something that breaks in quickly, is relatively comfortable, and looks professional. I live in Alaska so the options are slim as far as actually finding boots to test out. I tried the Stryker II 6" but found the shaft to be too short to be comfortable for a lot of walking and they didn't have the 8". I did find the Danner Kinetic which apparently is a newer model and it seemed to be comfortable at the store. Has anybody owned a pair for awhile and have any comments on them? I wouldn't mind ordering the Stryker but I've read a lot of reviews saying there are problems with the newer version with the laces and eyes popping out. If I spend that much on boots, I want them to last awhile. So, any opinions would be greatly appreciated, mostly by my feet!
