  • Which one of the two should i go for?

I have tried searching the forums and google but for some reason i couldn't find too much information. I have seen reviews on them but i wanted some other reviews or information from the lovely people of officer.com

So my decision is between these two boots.

Blackhawk Warrior wear Black ops, come in coyote, tan, and black, and they are the lightest most comfortable and water resistant boots ive owned.Plus the upkeep on them is just hose them off and spray them with tire shine.

        Danner Acadia's without question.

Come to Portland and you can get them for about $80 at the factory!

            .
            I love my Danners.

Not too pleased with the comfort level of my 5.11's.

I hear good things about the Oakleys. Thinking about getting a pair of those next.

5.11. I have a pair of 6" 5.11's and they are fantastic. Keep my feet dry and warm and are very comfortable to wear all day long.

Best part is they are one hundred dollars less then the Danner's.
This show is awesome, wrapped in supercool and smothered in bitchin. The only way it could be cooler is if he was riding a unicorn or something.

I'd go with the Danner but not the Acadia. It's a good military boot but for LE they're to heavy. The resoling feature is a nice gimmick but I wear the insides out before I wear the outsides. By the time my boot soles get worn I'm ready for a new pair of boots anyway.

I've been wearing boots now for the past 8 years and I've tried different boots including the Danner Acadias, 5.11 ATAC, the Oakley boots, military issued boots including Bates, Altamas, etc.

I'll concur with the above comment that the Danner is a great boot but the hard sole is not the best for law enforcement work. The oakley boots wear like a pair of sneakers but act as boots also. They are extremely comfortable however, they do not last long (lasted me about 6-9 months of duty wear) and they are not very water resisitant. I like the 5.11 ATACs but were still a bit clunkly for my liking. I am currently wearing the 5.11 HRT boots. They are just as if not more comfortable than the Oakley boots and they are waterproof. The boot is well made and the sole is hard enough to last but soft enough to be comfortable. The last pair I had lasted me about 2 years of constant use (Worn everyday for duty, training, SWAT, etc). I probably won't buy a different boot until they quit making these. This is just my .02. Hope this helps.

I had my Danner Acadia's for nearly 5 years, I switched out the insoles as needed and resoled them twice... With proper upkeep they will last. After the Acadias, I tried the Danner Telson....Wow ! I loved them as much asa the Acadias but they didn't last as long...

Danner has some great boots besides Acadia, but given your options I recommend those.

Ordering a pair of the Oakley 8" Assault boots in a couple of weeks. . . Definitely heard great things about their boots!

I've been wearing Danner TFX boots for a few months now, they are AMAZING. More comfortable than my running shoes, and they aren't too expensive (I think I paid $120 for mine. . . )

I had a pair of 5.11 ATAC mid-top uninsulated/non waterproof boots that I wore from spring-fall. They were basically black high-tops that were very comfortable and easy to run in. For a moderate to warm weather boot, they were fantastic. Terrible in Minnesota winters, but that's why I have insulated Matterhorns.

The 5.11s were the most comfortable boots I'd ever owned, but I got about 2 full seasons of use out of them before they wore out. The leather split on the side and the soles wore out. I had to replace insoles once, too. In contrast, I have Army boots from Belleville, Matterhorn and Danner that have been going strong from as early as the late 90's. Not sure if the 5.11s were worth it, but man were they ever comfy and light.
