There are companies out there that make combo vests. They are used in some correctional environments.
Off the top of my head... I think Pacific Safety Products and Protective Products Intl. both make some version of a hybrid vest..."If and eye for an eye leave the whole world blind, then why the **** are gun toting gangbangers still hitting things?!!"
