I recently bought some Bates Ultra-Lites for work. Unfortunately, after only two months, the toes are pretty severely scuffed to the point where I can't really get them to hold a shine. Has anyone ever had this problem? How can I smooth out the surface and get them to look new (or as close as possible) again? I am a stickler for a neat uniform and I don't want to buy a new pair of boots already because the ones I have look like garbage.

apply alot of shoe polish..Kiwi parade gloss. Let dry and then use a lighter to melt it. (helps if you put your hand in your boot and turn it upside down. Make sure the flame DOESN'T come in contact with the leather.) Use a soft cloth and a tad bit of water to smooth it into the scuff..almost like the old spit shine method. This profession is not for people looking for positive reinforcement from the public. Very often it can be a thankless job and you can't desire accolades, because those are not usually forthcoming. Just do your job to the best of your ability and live with the decisions you've made.
