  • I had the panel interview today and I must say it was a nerve racking experience. I was sure that I had bombed the interview and completely failed it, but it turns out that I passed. Moral of the story for those that haven't taken it yet, go in, sit down, listen to the question , and ANSWER THEM HONESTLY WHAT YOU WOULD DO! if you do that you should be fine.

i think most people over think the questions. if you respond intelligently and stick to your answers, you shouldn't fail. if you do just that and still fail, it may be time to reconsider your career choice.

That's the latest ruling. I don't know if waviers are available.
I just applied for the Northern Border, but anyhow. What I wana ask is? I cant find anywhere where it states that you can't have Tattoos. I ask because I'm all sleeved up on both arms. Thanks

You will be wearing long sleeves regardless of the weather if you become an agent. Its a recent change.

As long as it's covered, you're good. There are a considerable amount of instructors that have tattoos (typically you only see it on the PT guys, considering they can wear shorts) if you walk around here.

I'd also consider wearing a long sleeved collared shirt the first day just to make sure they're covered up so it's off the radar.

            • Anyone that is going through their BI or has already completed their BI, do you need to provide the investigator with all of your aliases that you've used on the internet on web forums such as this?

Just want to know ahead of time so I can get to work.

Policy: PA's prohibited attaching, affixing, or displaying objects, articles, jewelry or ornamentation to or through the ear, nose, tongue, eyebrows...etc (you get the picture). Medical alert bracelets and watches are authorized.

Tattoos: If you have a tattoo that is visible beyond the short sleeve; you will be required to submit a memo and explain/request a waiver or remedy. More likely, you'll wear a long sleeve and if it is around the hand/fingers (you'll need a waiver)

Agents (M&F’s) are allowed no more than a total of 3 rings (wedding band, engagement ring and/or wedding or combination are authorized.

And if you have a tattoo on your neck/face area ( I won't even comment on that one). Good luck to all.

Now THAT I have yet to see. I mean some people have tattoos that are on their upper back, but the RDU covers it easily.

                  • I guess I will have to go high behind my bicep so a short-sleeve covers it. I can't imagine using a long-sleeve in Tx during summer LoL

The Border Patrol does not usually post internal policy on the internet.

Don't worry about this until you get to your station for orientation; they'll straighten it out there.

Thanks sap123, Just worried they might come up with "Oh you have that many Tattoos, sorry you can't work for us" that type of thing. I'm guessing CBP has the same policy. I have a feeling I'll be refered to TSU this week.

Pretty much the same in OFO. Nothing offensive, racist, pornographic, or gang related...and it's pretty much a given you'll be "asked" to cover up your sleeves.
