  • Section8-Thanks for the suggestion and info. I'm sure by the time I take the PFT2 I will be fine. I was running the 1.5 miles without stopping, but I injured my ankle and couldn't run on it for awhile, so now I'm back to working out and running and I need to build up my stamina again. It's very frustrating being told by doctors to stay off your feet and stop running when you have a NEED to condition.

Section8's suggestion is what I would go with as well. I've been running every morning getting ready for the PFT2. I measured out 220 yds and sprint it 3-5 times while timing myself. I measured out a 3 mile course and run it about 10 mins after my sprints. The last 3/4 to 1 mile of it I'll do a fartlek run using telephone poles. Sprint to one jog to one sprint to one etc. We did fartlek runs atleast once a week in the army. Its a real good way to get some great conditioning in and I personally think you see much greater results a lot faster than jogging or running alone. Just be careful with the ankle! And as for stamina, make sure you run more than 1.5 miles at a time. Best way to get good at running 1.5 miles is to run 2.5 miles. Stop at times if you have to but keep going once you've hit that 1.5 mile marker. If you don't, that will become your "wall" and your body will tell you to get ready to quit well before that. Make your wall at 2.5 miles and you'll be all set.

This is what I tell everyone taking that interview; "If I passed it, you'll pass it". English is my second language and I got to think harder before speaking. I got to think to answer the question, I think to put some sense in my words, and on top of that I got to think to avoid my accent and sound clear. I don't think you have that issue. If anything, just think before you speak. Really, don't be afraid to take a few seconds to give your best answer. Best of luck to you.

            • Relax, think through the questions and use common sense. I brought my resume and it wasnt needed, so always safe to bring it anyways, I dont know how other people's oral boards went. Give details in your answers, and just be sure of yourself and you'll be fine!
