  • not sure why it took him that long. I know tons of people who test 06, 07, 08 so on and so forth and they processed within 6-8 months. So to who all is in the process it to each its own. Don't not get discourage.

    • So a couple of days ago I passed my Panel interview. They said that they will contact me for a PT test. How long will it take for me to get a call or email for my first PT test?

I had my OB in early November, and just took my PFT on Tuesday.

There's nothing hard and fast, just go with the flow.

Damn it took that long for your first PT test? Hopefully, mine won't take as long as yours did. Maybe it was b/c yours was during the holiday season and things slowed up a bit. I know that was the case for me b/c I took my test back in October of 2010 and finally got my application in January and then it took them a month or so to process and then took my Oral Board on March 9th.

Mine took 30 minutes. But I thought it was really stressful for me that is and it wasn't fun at all but then again that was my first Panel Interview so I was really nervous for it. Glad it is over with though.

              • Just out of curiousity... and just for the sake of entertaining conversation... We all know Arizona is the most likely place to go. BUT!!!! What is everyone's dream station/sector and why? Also feel free to list any specialty assignments you might be interested in. Personally I want Nogales because of the volume of work and I love Arizona. After my probation I'd like to try out for BORSTAR because of my background in EMS and as a rescue specialist in the FD. So, what are you all day dreaming to get?

I agree also. It was probably the most stessful interview I've ever done. I was in for about 30 mins and about 10-15 mins outside waiting while they were deciding. I think the 15 mins waiting outside was more stressful then the interview itself because your outside left thinking if you've failed or not untill you actually go back in.

Yeah b/c u have no idea what they are going to say to you when you walk back in and they aren't happy going type of people either. My Panel was extremely strict. Not a pleasant interview to say the least b/c they hammered me with questions and def tried to get inside my head to change my answers and also to see what kind of person I am. I will never forget that moment in my life. I was definitely shook up and sweating bullets afterwards.

                      • My panel was psychotic stressful and I was sweating bullets. I think what helped in my case was I took my time and formulated my answers. The 3 Agents in mine would just give the most hollow stare and had like nothing going on in their eyes and if there was anything there, it looked like "Why the F---- are you here d-bag? Any f-ing time sweetheart! Just walk out the door!" I had to wait outside for maybe 5 minutes but it felt like 5 hours and then when I came back in they kept the look going until they said I had passed. Then they were all smiles and cool as hell. Just take your time and answer truthfully.

oh yea, well my answers were like perfectly articulated yet i still failed. I gave reasoning behind everything i said and I still failed. But i now know HOW to answer the questions next time cause they told me why i failed the interview.

                          • Well that's good. As Samuel Beckett said "Try again, fail again, fail better." You now know what to do any that'll help not only in your next go around with USBP but in any law enforcement interview.

That may have sucked, but I'm sure getting shot at by some cartel thugs sucks more!
