Nobody really wants to buy a 2 bedroom 1 bath condo, when they could buy a home for the same price, or less as far as forclosed homes goes. I've always wanted to pursue a law enforcement career, so now I'm going for it. Right now I'm in BI in a state law enforcement organization, but there pay will cover my mortgage for the time being. I would much rather pursue Border Patrol, then the other organization. So thats my problem, but I filled out the online app anyways. Maybe idefaulting wouldnt matter after training beging, I dont know, just thought I could get someones experience with this situation.
dang! you might want to talk to an attorney, or someone versed in the "Making Homes Affordable Act". Take a look at this website, if you haven't already.... might give you some other ideas. http://makinghomeaffordable.gov/

    Good Luck!

Haha it's 3 on 3 off then 4 on 4 off with one of those days being an 8 hour day which is usually decided by seniority.

We have been on it for about a year and a half and I love it, but throw court and training in and it can make for some long days.

I work for a large department in South FL

      • Since I'm a NB applicant I've decided to apply under the new announcement. When I registered it asked me "have you taken the Oral Interview and FAILED that interview" and I answered no becasue I passed. Later it asked me where I would like to take my oral board. Does this mean I would have to take it again? Or does te system ask everyone regardless of you status? I am currently in TSU.

              • Well I guess if I took mine in 2008 I'm just fast tracking through this then. No written, no oral board, sounds good to me. My oral board was the most nerve wracking thing I had done up until that point. 3 Supervisory Agents staring my humble 19 year old self down. I bet when I left the room and they conversed about whether to let me go on or not, I'm sure they had a good chuckle about my deer in the headlights look I must have had. I'd gladly go through it again but I won't complain if I don't have to.

                • Just got the email with instructions stating, "if you passed the test..." or, "if you didn't pass the test...". Did anybody else get this message?

What kind of questions do they ask you during the oral board? Do they give you various cases and ask what you would do in that situation? I've never gone through it, so am quite curious to know.

                    • Anyone who has taken an Oral Board Assessment signed a confidentiality agreement stating that they would not discuss any of the questions with other applicants.

Thank you for your response. However, I did not mean to ask for the questions, but was just curious about what type of questions they asked, such as your response in a certain situation.

                        • Regular interview questions and situational questions. That's about as much as someone can tell you.

                            • The Video based interview is for the CBPO position not the BPA position. The BPA Oral Board is an interview with 3 Supervisory Border Patrol Agents, completely different than the video based interview for CBPOs. Get your facts straight.
