Already closed. Must have flooded the system with applications. The OCONUS posting is still up for now.

Both CONUS (https://www.usajobs.gov/job/634337100) and OCONUS (https://www.usajobs.gov/job/633696000) are still open. The CONUS announcement doesn't appear to be searchable, so just use the link.

Anyone have any information on the hiring steps in the process for applicants who are not already in federal law enforcement? Is the basic steps: interview, written exam, PAT, polygraph, medical, and psych? Any information is greatly appreciated.

Former Army CID 1811 on the 701st side. With the 1811-ization of CID the policies and regulations concerning hiring are still pretty new and slim. The hiring process (to my knowledge) is application, interview, tentative offer, medical, background, Final Offer/EOD.
CID (as of now) does not have polygraph, written exam, psych, or physical fitness test requirements.
Fun fact: when I was at CITP I did not even have a standard for the PEB at FLETC. Just needed to "participate" in order to pass.

Donjuan85657 - The vehicles are GSA which is part of the problem (cost). Most 1811 agencies I work with the agency owns their cars (ATF, USMS, and DEA - Maybe a DOJ think).
cmor5150 - Right, a bit of the famous Army micro-management and yet another needless cost saving measure.
-
I’ll rephrase…maybe policies will change with the new civilian 1811 stance they are taking to be more in line with other civilian 1811 agencies.
-
Yeah, they are really going to need to change that. Having your stuff in your GOV ready to go at a moments notice from anywhere is pretty important and essential in my experience. My former agency went through GSA and dialed back on the "kinds" of cars we could have and limited take home to a 50 mile radius from the office in order to be cost effective.

Anyone know when they will start reviewing apps? The opening is for the whole year but I highly doubt they are going to wait until Feb 1 2023 to start interviewing people lol

I have not heard many positive things about this job as of yet, any insight on further changes coming with the push to civilian-ize it yet?

Nothing confirmed other than they are looking to mirror NCIS and AFOSI - their new director is former NCIS so I see a lot of similar changes.
-
That seems decent, the NCIS group I work with in my area seem to enjoy that position.
-
For right now the idea is to have 1811s long-term at one post in order to foster relationships with other LEOs and the US Attorney Office while military agents will be the deplorable/expeditionary investigators who go overseas and down-range.

Is there a degree requirement for this job? Does anyone know if they are sending new agents to CITP?

Having a bachelor's degree is not (yet) a listed requirement for the position as most Most Active Duty CID Agents (Enlisted: 31D and some WO: 311A) do not have degrees either when they were first selected. As CID moves towards 1811s I could see that one day becoming a requirement much like FBI, DEA, ATF, etc. but not for a while as folks leave active duty CID and transition to 1811.
My understanding is that CIDSAC at Fort Leonard Wood, MO is still going to be operational for the foreseeable future. Most 1811s hired for the 701st MP Group (CID) will continue to go to CITP.
The current speculation is that the new agent training pipeline in the future will be CITP followed by a CID specific basic agent course (probably still at Ft. Wood) much like NCIS and AF-OSI.

Let me put it this way: if you are a soldier, by all means, do it. Its a cool MOS. Looks good on a resume for other 1811 positions outside of the Army. If you are civilian, you will encounter personnel issues, microaggressions (minority issue mainly), 9/10 you will get a divorce, the textbook definition of RIGID work, good old boy club (if you're okay with that and can fit into the kool kids club, then you'll be fine and age like wine, no stress), understaffed which increases you workload = more hours working = away from family/hobbies. If you are a white male, you are ok. Go for it. If you are a minority, go elsewhere.

Anyone have an info on the Lakeland, fl office. I know there’s a reserve unit there but what would a 1811 do there? There isn’t an active post there so what’s their AOR?
