  • USMS Schedule B 2022

About two weeks into 2022 and figured time to start a new thread for those of us looking to attempt for any announcements this year.

Contacted my local district and received an email back confirming I was added to their recruitment list for an information session. No date other than "near future" was given. I am already a non-LE Fed so I am personally aware of the protracted hiring timeline and fire and forget nature of the application. Best of luck to all this year.

I just received an e-mail invitation yesterday for an upcoming Information Session that will be held virtually. Hopefully, having the virtual sessions will allow for more people to enter the pipeline. Unfortunately, I do not know which region/office is holding the seminar, since I sent interest e-mails to every adjacent region (Pacific NW and California).

I’ve been on the list for eastern district of VA about 6-8 months, and it’s been radio silence. I’ve asked a couple times just to check in and they basically told me to stop asking for now.

The District of Maryland and the also the District Court of D.C. are supposed to be holding information sessions this month. I think that Western District of NC was also planning one in January or February.

Anthropologist, thanks for that heads up, I will reach out one more time and see if I can get on those lists. DC is a very quick trip for me.

        @Anthropologist

Maryland is the district I emailed. They confirmed I am on the list but didnt provide a date. If the session is this month, do you know when they'll reach back out to give the actual date?

FedMe The sessions are scheduled to be January 24th, January 26th, and January 28th of 2022. Subject to change due to Covid.

Stay Salty VB I'll PM you the email of the Deputy to contact for DC.

I attended my information session in Dec in NY, today I just received my email to apply. I took the test today as well, guess you don’t have to go to the testing center for USMS but now it’s wait and see for results.

Wow that is a quick turnaround. I've seen from the other threads waits of up to 3+ months in between info session, USA Jobs invite and assessment.

Yeah this was extremely quick just from reading from past threads. I’m just hoping I did well on this test to continue to move forward. Im assuming possibly another month to get results.

Any one know of any info sessions coming up? I did not have luck with my contact on the east coast. He basically said since the year just started locations haven't gotten pushed out yet

Have an info session coming up in a couple of weeks. What should I expect? Should I bring anything? I’m planning on just bringing a folder for paperwork. Pretty excited! Good luck to everyone this year!

I emailed a recruiter for the southern border states and said there was no sessions coming up. That was about 3 months ago, how often does everyone email them and ask if there are sessions coming up?

I only sent 1 and got a response pretty quickly. If I were you I’d send them out to any district within driving distance, at least for your state. Different districts have different times I believe because my area is doing 2, one in January and one early Feb

Thanks for the advice, I'll email a few other districts and see

Ok so maybe someone can help me out because I have gotten different responses. I’ve emailed different districts as per suggestions and they’ve all told me not to contact them further, and to go through my local district instead, which hasn’t had an info session in almost 2 years, even though I’ve stated I am more than willing to travel and relocate. Any thoughts into how I can get in an info session???? Getting a little frustrated to just start the process at this point.

Continue trying to reach out the the Districts that are receptive. After waiting a while for my local recruiter to respond with an info session date, I just asked if it was appropriate for me to contact adjacent districts. My local recruiter encouraged me to reach out to other districts, but some districts have screened me out for not being local.

Just recieved an email from the District of Colorado with the following:

Per updated guidance from the USMS Hiring & Recruitment Division on 5/25/2021, potential applicants may only be added to the recruitment list for one district where they either live or are going to school. Due to the updated guidance, we are only able to add applicants who either reside in or are full-time students in the state of Colorado.

Well USMS ghosted me on a virtual Information Session that was supposed to happen this month. Received an e-mail several weeks ago notifying me of an upcoming virtual Information Session and I responded with my contact details. Tried contacting the DUSM that sent the e-mail and it's been radio silence. Is this normal?

I'm not saying this happened in your case, but sometimes they receive more applicants than info session slots so they have to reduce the number. They probably would retain your info for future info sessions.

I'm not sure if the virtual sessions are limited though.

IndexBoss Thanks for the response. Hopefully, there is a reasonable reason for it. The lack of communication is pretty frustrating. I would of expected a response or notice that I didn't make the cut, if that was the case.

FYI I’m hearing from the recruiter in my area that the process is 18mo - 2yrs right now

That’s liberal - I have been cleared for hire for a year now. I been in the process 3 years from informational session as of this coming July.

Donjuan85657 2020 basocally being a lost year probably didnt help in your case. I heard 2 years-ish from those applying this year too is the expected entry timeline barring unforeseen circumstances.

My information session was recent and they said they are expecting a hiring drive as well possibly next year (not sure what that means) but with the government who knows. I’m also a vet with a disability rating so I’m hoping that helps. Either way I’m expecting a long haul and I’m going to hopefully sign on with local PD for a while in the meantime.

Not to be a downer, but USMS has made one too many promises for over 2 years now. I am coming on 18 months clear for hiring under schedule B
