I'm at FLETC now for another agency, I see these guys daily. Spoke to one of them in the chowhall the other day, something he said to pass on to potential students, drop the weights and run. You need to be proficient in running and body weight exercises. Don't show up not ready because they will drop you. I'm sure we all knew that though. They're the best trained at FLETC, hands down.

So, I just took the virtual information session a couple weeks ago and was wondering: how long after taking the info session are the usajobs.gov application links sent out?

I did a virtual session yesterday and they said around 4-6 weeks before a link would be sent out. Not sure if they’re grouping different info sessions together so it will be a little longer for you or if each group is separate.

They all seem to do their own thing and timelines are all over the place, but, for my experience it was about a month after the session I received the USA Jobs invite.

Start browsing the 2019/2020 forums. Some are reaching the 2-3 year mark before getting an academy date…

Yeah the process is snails pace especially because COVID essentially halted it for a year back in 2020 so there is still a huge backlog of applicants. I’m approaching 4 months since my info session and haven’t scheduled an interview yet however I did get my referral. My advice is find something else to do while you go through the process because you’re looking at probably a year and a half just to enter the applicant pool and there’s people in some of these threads that have been eligible for a year and still haven’t got an academy slot.

Either or get ready for a long ride. Currently, I am going through the hiring process with ERO and the waiting game is insane! I suspect the USMS hiring process is even worse.

I attended my info session in Dec of 2018. Finally took my first FIT a few weeks ago.

Kennywc did they offer more than one location or date? I went to a January session in NC and haven’t heard anything yet.

AZ,TX and NM. They also stated in the email “ Space is limited and not everyone receiving this email will be able to be scheduled to attend.“ For what it’s worth.. I guess it’s also how quickly the districts set up their processes / the positions em they’re trying to fill? I have no clue

Fellas, what is the secret to this damn OPM assessment? I’ve already failed it twice. I can’t afford another. Anything helps!

I couldn’t tell you bro. These assessments are weird. I’ve failed ones people said are easy and passed ones that people said were hard. Just keep chipping away my friend.

Look at the test as if your a new employee. It changed my answer selection and helped me. I failed it twice prior to passing.

Email received for interview confirmation. What’s the average turn around from a USMS interview to an offer/rejection?

The range is like, anywhere from a few weeks to about 9 months…

If it’s a “no thanks,” you’ll get that email about a month afterward. The TOL will be roughly 3-9 months after.

I interviewed in SD in Jan. I heard from some dudes who I met there, that they received their TOLs this week. Looks like there is some movement happening.

correction, they received emails saying they will be continuing in the process. I’m assuming they meant the TOL. Not confirmed, but..it is the next step in the process.

      10-22 fellas. They’re weren’t TOLs. My baaad

So, I just got the assessment link from the May USMS virtual information session, but have yet to have opened the link and started the assessment. Can, anyone give me advice or pointers before I start ? What’s on the test and is it timed?

It is similar to all other federal test. Review the USMS study guide for examples (should be like a 2012 version). Good luck
