It's been a year since I passed the interview and I'm still waiting on a TOL. Reached out multiple times and have been told "it should be soon".

Background-Apr 23 (Cleared)




Med- May 23 (awaiting clearance)




Nothing yet to schedule fit or drug. I haven’t received a FY email.




I did have to email HR and request a status update, that’s how I learned about my background clearance and waiting for med.




I also asked HR if I would receive a location with the final offer letter and got a reply stating




“The process for hiring our DUSM Candidates has recently changed. If you are selected for a DUSM position, going forward, the new process will be as follows: A final offer will be provided; however, a post-Basic Deputy U.S. Marshal graduation duty location will not be identified at that time. You may be notified of your duty location before you report to FLETC or after the BDUSMi class has started.”




Good luck everybody and to folks just starting, be patient it is a long process.




Update from my last post on August 1




I followed up with Medical again today ( initially reached out August 1 and 14th) and received a response today stating to look for an email that was sent to me on or around 8/23 and if I didn’t have it to let them know.




I didn’t have the email and found out today that I need a medical follow up because I put that I take Advil / Tyenlol IF I get a headache.




Initially I was worried about reaching out and seeming “annoying” or that I would get booted for some reason for contacting HR too much.




This new career is in your hands and take it from me to reach out (respectfully) at the very least 2 weeks- 1 month at a time to make sure to circumvent any mistakes that could be made because these things happen and everyone is human. So account for that in order to be successful.

Same boat as you. HR always answers in a timely manner which is nice. I’ve been waiting for medical for a couple months now after them being CC’d in HRs responses to me… fingers crossed.

Just checked, and I’m getting the same thing. I have emailed with HR back and Forth a few times since receiving my TOL. All is well and I am just waiting on medical. My guess is that it’s normal.

Notified background cleared after sending numerous emails and follow-ups. Don’t expect HR to update you with anything. Now onto scheduling medical after they CC’d med program on their email response, at least they responded right away -_-

It should say “link previously used” and not give you an option to sign in however, when you exit out and/or go back to the link and click again, it’ll let you sign in. Hope this helps.

Just because I am bored, I went back to my TOL and clicked the USA staffing onboarding link and it says

“ No Active Records


This link is inactive. If you believe you are receiving this message in error, please contact your Human Resources office.”

Has this happened to anyone else? I am currently just waiting to get cleared by medical to get put into hiring pool.
