Anyone else get another FY23 Q3 USMS Hiring update. Basically saying the same thing as the last one in January. Cleared to hire, no promise. Might find out about location before or during FLETC.

I did not receive the new one for Q3. I only got the Q2 one in January
-
Yeah I did along with several others. It seems like this means we have a shot going forward the rest of the FY along with those that got the Q2 email in January. Definitely a solid move in the right direction. Assuming April is full that leaves 144 spots.

are they doubling the classes in this FY? I keep hearing that they are, that they aren't... what's the deal?

It’d be nice to know where the doubled size rumor is coming from. I heard the other day from someone at the academy it’s 4 left including April, so without a reputable source I have a hard time buying they are somehow adding that many classes, even if I obviously hope that’s true.

Well, we’re five months into the FY not sure who would know the answer

Was informed today my background and medical are cleared and I’m now cleared for hire (via hiring pool email).Last edited by Kennywc; 03-07-2023, 03:48 PM.

Can anyone interviewing in Lexington in 3/6-10 comment when you get your results? Just trying to see when everyone else hears something.

I have been seeing that people that are cleared for hire have been getting a chance to submit a preference list. Are you able to list specific offices in specific districts so for example like Flagstaff in the District of Arizona, or can you only list the district?
I am currently in the process after passing my interview. Just waiting on TOL.

This is the verbiage from the most recent email: So for some of mine that I was interested in a smaller office I would put the office and then the district in parenthesis.
"You have a change in your preferred district location, please use the link and provide up to 10 districts you are interested in working for. (Please note, if you applied to the Recent Graduate announcement, your locations are limited to the locations you selected during the application phase of the process.)"

Went ahead and took the USSS (SAEE) and passed it a few weeks ago at Pearson Test Centers!!! Sorry guys was tired of waiting!!! Could not wait any longer!! Getting older fellas!! Wish me luck guys!!! Test was challenging to say the least!! But just like The Star Method testing questions they don’t want you to talk about it!! This test center was very tight and secure(no phone, wallet, or watch) no nothing!!! lol The Marshals test was nothing like this one!! With this one you had to take it at a Pearson Test by you... you even had to pat
Yourself down and turn your pockets inside out!!! Lol

Does HR reach out and confirm all the required TOL forms in the portal have been completed by the due date or is there no correspondence until med and BI reach out?

I emailed HR about hiring certs recently and received the following message:
"According to our records, your hiring certificate is dated 7/20/2021 so it should remain open through approximately 7/20/2023. Should you not be selected by that time, you will be notified of the pending closure and the need to reapply for continued consideration. If you are selected by a hiring district, you will be contacted with the next steps. Thank you for your patience with the hiring process and your continued interest in the United States Marshals Service!"
Is there any chance HR could be sending me the wrong information? I’ve been browsing this forum and other places and I’ve seen varying responses. I’ve seen some stating it’s two years from being referred to others stating it’s 3 years from info session.
I’ve also seen some people claiming they’ve received correspondence from HR stating that there are no official closing dates for their certs. I’m thinking this would make sense since I know there are some applicants that have been in the process 3+ years, right? I've also talked to a marshal in southern Ohio who said his process was 4 years which doesn't add up with what hr told me. Info Session: 3/2021 NOR Email: 7/20/2021. Any help/insight is appreciated, thanks everyone.

It is possible they could be giving wrong information. OR everybody has a different time when their hiring certs expire. Example: someone who was certified in 2018 doesn’t have an expiration date. Someone certified in 2020 could have a 2 year date. Someone in 2019 could have 3 years. We don’t know. This is just my theory, and it would explain the wide range of answers people get. But one thing that’s concerning is them telling you that a district must pick you, when they recently sent out emails stating that the districts no longer pick applicants. No one really knows

Thanks for the feedback. I'm hoping they gave me the wrong information and I could just chalk up what they told me as not completely accurate considering the wide range of responses people have been getting and the inconsistent information regarding districts. I'm also not sure of when exactly my BG/Med cleared, I only found out when I emailed asking for an update, which was about 2 weeks ago.

Anyone been in adjudication for 2 months (after the investigation is finished) and still waiting to get cleared?
I am trying to understand the average adjudication timeframe.
Also how come some certs expire after 2 years and some not!? Thanks.
