Is there any truth to the idea that many of the applicants in the hiring pool from the 2019-2021 announcements are still waiting due to them passing on the locations they were initially offered?

DJ4113 I don’t think there is much truth to that. I’ve heard of a few tentative selection emails going out to 2019 applicants in the last few weeks. None of them had any previous offers - all waiting for selection in the hiring pool. I haven’t heard of any 2021 applicants getting tentative selection emails or offers yet.

Has anyone heard or know anyone that has attended an info session in 2023? Or know of any that will be coming up?

Anyone else in a hiring pool? I’ve been cleared for hire for months and no other contact. I know they are behind I’m just wondering what is the usual wait time in the hiring pool?

Has anyone had to reschedule their interview? I am wondering if it's at all possible and or if it would hinder anything before I reach out. The email only gives a cancel email and not a phone # to call or I was going to call and see what my options were.

I had to reschedule for military reasons. It’s not ideal because it pushes you back a few months. For me four months. So to answer your question, I know you can, but it probably depends on the circumstances.
-
I had to reschedule/push to the next round of interviews back in SEP22 (for a NOV22 Interview) because of a NG/MIL deployment. I had to push again because I wasn't back in time for the February/March ones. I JUST scheduled one in May23, and it's a good thing I'm getting back by then, as the email states that they expect that to be the last round of interviews for the year. I don't know for sure, but that would track with the above poster's comment about "No more 2023 announcements". I wonder if it's because with the new 1811, they have to increase the qualifications in the announcement and don't want to fill the process with people referred for GS-5 082.

Has anyone timed out on their two year application? Im getting to close for comfort and wondering if i had to start everything over. I know there are a lot of people in the same backlogged boat.
Reached out to HR and they confirmed hiring announcement is only good for 2 years.

My info session was right around the same time as you. I asked HRD the same question and got a different answer. They told me the hiring certificates are usually good for 2 years but there is no expiration date listed for mine. Applicants that went to info sessions in 2019 are just now getting academy dates and their certs didn’t expire. It’s so backlogged that they don’t seem to care about hiring certificates expiring.
-
They didn't say I would expire, just stated announcements are good for the 2 years, and would notify me of a closure and expectations.
I was thinking the same as you, with the extended process, they are just now going through 2020s.
2021 APP, Where at in the process are you?

Jtdavis18 Cleared for hire 09/22. Received the FY23 Q2 email from HRD end of January and nothing since.

2021applicant - you have the patience of a patron saint. I sincerely hope you get an offer soon. Some of those applicant stories are wild.

Is anyone else at a stand still like myself. Did medical in Dec and background in January and haven’t heard anything since

jamesch20 sounds like you’re similar to me. I completed medical in December and got the email that cleared. What is making me scratch my head is I haven’t been contacted by a BI or gotten the e-qip email. I contacted OPM and they told me I was in queue to be contacted by a BI but that was a month ago and it’s been crickets since.
Guess we keep standing by. For reference I am a disabled vet w/ a degree and with no LEO experience

I did medical in November and I emailed them twice and they said they are waiting FOH to upload the files still. How long does that take? And I started my BI in December and he submitted it and called twice to clarify things and haven't heard back in about a month.

TonySoprano do you have a previous clearance from another fed agency? I never was contacted for background or e-qip either. I had a clearance done from ICE within the past year or so. I've heard some say on this forum if you had a recent background clearance they may use that, which is why you may not get a response from a background investigator.

Hello all, I just received my TOL as of February 28th. Does the USMS only have hiring under "Excepted Service" is their "Competitive Hiring"? I was just curious as I am figuring out what these terms mean.
Also if you make it through the entire hiring process are you signing a memorandum contract agreeing for 3 years of service? After which you can be terminated, or is it just in regards to your initial assignment location. Not trying to put the cart before the horse. Just curious.
