No, they reached out to me. It took a month (estimate) for them to contact me.

    Greetings Candidate,

This is notice that you have completed and cleared your Pre-employment medical exam. Someone from the hiring branch will reach out soon with your next steps. Congratulations and best of luck on the rest of your process.

ryno78 I believe what hes referring too is the new practice of not giving a location for duty until AFTER you accept the final offer. Theres talk about it in this and other USMS threads on this forum.

  • Nice. When did you have your info session/tol?

an entire year to get into hiring pool, not bad at all. Hopefully you get your FIT test, drug test and academy date ASAP!

  • That's mad quick. What's your background? I had my info session in May 22, received my TOL January 13 of this year. Silence since then.

      • Got hit with a medical follow-up. They provided me with a pretty straight forward follow-up form.

Has anyone experienced this? I literally only use the VA for medical. But they take a long time to schedule routine medical appointments. Has anyone ever had a problem doing their follow-ups with contract facilities like Concentra or one of those CVS Medical Clinics?

Are you able to go into a little more detail regarding the medical follow up? I am awaiting medical clearance and also have VA ratings.

I'm likely to be in the same situation just received a VA rating few months after medical was completed and still waiting on medical clearance likely to have a follow up appointment as well.

Pomona794 — Thanks for the tip man. I scheduled an appointment with one of the above mentioned. Got in the next day. Talked to the medical staff. They told me they’ve been validating a lot of DHS applicants’ follow-up medical, to their knowledge their patients have been good to go,

Caksand and jackson101 — I’m 100% P&T. All my VA Disabilities are physical, no MH ratings. I have a good laundry list, PM for details if you want.

It’s a super basic document. It’s a really straight forward questionnaire, but you’re responsible for the cost and appointment of the follow up...

When people are saying the application expires after 2 years. Is that feom.the USA jobs application? Or does that end after TOL and no longer in effect?

Some of yall are lucky to be flying through as fast as you are!

I’ve heard so many different variables. Some say it’s 3 years from the date of the TOL.

My suggestion is to email HRD for the answer and get something in writing. That timeline is brutal. But keep trucking.

according to the website it will be done on a track/specific running route. Never heard anyone doing it on a treadmill

        • I've been waiting on my medical paperwork to clear since I was seen December 5th, reached out to USMS and they say they are still waiting on FOH to upload my paperwork, reached out to FOH and they say they uploaded it a few days after my appointment, that other applicants have called about the same thing. Apparently if HR doesn't retrieve the docs soon enough they get deleted, so around and around the blame merry-go-round we go.

TLDR if you're waiting for your medical to clear for 2+ months start sending emails.

          *UPDATE*
Spoke to USMS HR and they said the wait time is currently 60-90 days from time of appointment to time of USMS receiving medical paperwork due to the backlog. They are hoping to have my paperwork any week now.

I'm a little confused. Is the FOH the place I did my medical at or is it something else? The reason I ask is because where I did the medical they literally started uploading the documents as I was leaving. This was in mid November and I haven't heard anything since.

        • Quick question for anyone who has completed the BI, did the BI let you know when they submitted everything? Or should I wait until USMS HR reaches out to me to let me know?

My BI is really cool. He was on top of everything and contacted everyone right away. There were two things that he had trouble getting so it took longer. He submitted everything and then I got a call a few weeks later asking to clarify something in my background and it has been about a month and I haven't heard anything. Its been about two months so far.

yea i'm with Iroqouis here, With the exception of one individual on this forum who has been cleared for hire, I think the majority of us in the FY 22 announcements wont see an academy until '24. Which tracks with the time line most announcements have had the last few years.

Think it’s very unlikely. I’ve only heard of four people receive tentative selection emails for the April academy. 3 were 2019 applicants and one was a 2020 applicant. Including the April academy, there are 7 academy classes left in FY 23. If they are still working on 2019, doubt they get through 2020 and 2021. Only possibility is if a large percentage of people back out due to the new hiring change (accepting a final offer without an assigned location).

No, the backlog of applicants I’m referring to is the backlog from 2019 - early 2021. Rumour I heard is that anybody from those years will be able to EOD right around the end of FY23, thus opening the door for later 2021 - 2022 applicants. That means FY24 It sounds like that’s in line with what you guys just said.
