Did my medical before Christmas, still no eqip stuff but I imagine it’s because HR is on leave until tomorrow. TOL back in September.
At the end of this month it will be 1 year since I began this lovely process and I still haven’t submitted fingerprints.

I hope all is well with everyone, but quick question. When you do the medical exam, do you do the drug testing at the same time or at a different location and time? I don’t remember them stating that my urine test was for drug testing.Last edited by ArthurMorgan; 01-18-2023, 12:31 AM.

We’re all going to be waiting awhile. There is an academy every 1.5 months. That’s around 6-8 this year. Around 40+ candidates for each academy.
The academy that started yesterday consisted of 19’ and 20’ Information Session candidates. I expect late winter to early fall to exclusively consist of 20’ candidates…
Us 22’ candidates may be flying through the process, but I don’t expect a seat in FLETC until Q2 of 2024 at the earliest.

I am guessing spring 2024. 18 moths from receiving TOL would be April/May 24.
-
IroqouisB Agreed man. I am in no hurry to leave my current job.

Anybody know what kind of timeline to EOD I'm looking at?
Dec 2021 info session

Oct 2022 TOL

Currently waiting to meet with the background investigator.

2021applicant — did HRD ever clarify when this timer starts…? Is it when you get “certified for hire” after completing the steps? Or is it from another variable (Information Session, Application, or TOL)…?
-
When HRD answered this question for me it seems that it’s different for every group and that there isn’t necessarily a specific triggering event. I.E. I’m also a 21’ applicant and my group doesn’t have an expiration date even though I’ve entered the pool.
-
IroqouisB here is the exact response from HRD:
“A conditional offer expires when the certificates of eligibles close. Certificates are typically open for 2 years, but this is subject to change. The certificates on which you were referred are dated 7/20/2021. There is currently no closing date for these certificates.”
07/20/2021 was the date that I received the NOR email from OPM so believe that is the date used for when your certificate will expire.
-
I wish given basically the same answer as 2021applicant,
"Applications expire when the hiring certificates are closed. Typically that is 2-3 years from the issue date of the certificate. The certificate on which you were referred is dated 9/25/21 and we do not yet have a closing date scheduled."
When I asked if I would be notified if there was a closing date set and the certificate was set to expire and received 'Yes, you will be notified when the hiring certificates will close and your application expires."
I also asked who exactly was filling up the scheduled classes at FLETC, applicants from '19, 20', 21' etc.. and was told "We target the applicants who have been in the hiring pool the longest, but all applicants in the hiring pool are eligible for selection. Selections are made by the hiring districts."
I hope this helps a bit

Has anyone in Eastern District of VA had any luck in actually hearing anything back reference an info session? I’m allegedly been on the list for quite some Time now with zero correspondence about any type of hiring movements

I wouldn’t care what HQ told you, they don’t monitor how many lists you’re on anyway. I mean just my advice but I was on like 6 districts offices lists and took whichever one came first. Take it for what it’s worth but I’m not waiting months or years to get an info session. The process after the info session takes years too
-
Mikelow the email I was sent told me my name was being removed from the other lists and I needed to continue solely through my home district if I remember right. It was kinda weird.
-
Mikelow eh I mean that was a while ago no harm in trying again I guess. Seems like my district is the only one with absolutely zero movement. I think our info session list is over 200 names now last time I spoke to the recruiter.

Hey guys! Thanks for all the helpful info in this thread. Regarding the TOLs that come after the interview… do they tell you the location you’ll be working at in the TOL? Been curious about that and haven’t seen anything yet.

TOL is simply a formal start to the pre employment process to do medical, background etc. The districts essentially get a handful of possible candidates when HQ determines they meet the criteria to get a new hire and chooses from that list therefore you won’t know potential location until that district pulls your name from the hiring pool after all the other steps have been completed.
